Forgot W2's with tax returns

I just realized that I forgot to send in W2's with my Tax returns. My I-751 package was mailed on 1st April. What should I do??? Will I get a RFE?

Don't be paranoid with this oblivion. You will be fine. If you send them only the tax return, they probably have the way to verify your tax return. If they really send the RFEs, you can submit them later.

We didn't send W-2's with any packet, and only got an RFE with this last one, ROC. If you by chance get a RFE, just send them a copy of your tax transcripts, which is what they really prefer anyways. Don't sweat the small stuff

I didn't know W2s were a must, it doesn't say anything about them as required on the I-751 instructions. If you provide a bunch of other evidence showing commingled finances, should it matter? I sent about 30 pages worth of stuff...

They want complete tax returns which includes W2s. When they say "tax return" they mean the whole thing. Nothing for ROC is a must — there is no single required item. Just wait and see if you get an RFE. There is nothing you can do about it now.

First time I hear W2s were required for ROC. I know they were required for the affidavit of support, but that was because they needed to check we were above the poverty line etc. What's the point now?

I sent a tax transcript for 2011 but for 2012 we had just filed, so I just sent a copy of our complete tax return including all the schedules, but without a W2. I don't see why it's needed anyway. It's the IRS's job to verify our income, but USCIS is only responsible to verify validity of marriage, so how much income one made is none of their business.

Anyway, now that our 2012 tax return has been processed, I will go ahead and order a 2012 tax transcript and keep it just in case we get an RFE.

In my humble opinion, if they really want something and it's important that they have it, it should be clearly stipulated in the instructions. If it isn't clearly stated in the instructions, then people are going to send what is their interpretation of what they're asking for, which is what so many of us did.

Anyway, everyone - let's not freak out about it. Worst case scenario, all of us who didn't send in a W2 get an RFE and we send in tax transcripts and/or a copy of the W2 if it's that essential to them and we then get approved

We got an RFE, I hadn't submitted W-2's either, and in the letter they did request those plus a few other things. But I think it's also because we don't have any lease or mortgage papers to prove we share the same address, and that helped confirm it for them I guess.

So there's a chance you might get one, but don't sweat it.
