I am not going to move to East LA.

Odd when you have choices.

As if the illegal settlers squatting in Palestine don't have the choice to *not* be a criminal.

Isn't it ironic.....

If a 14 year old of mine was out there trying to injure or kill people with rocks, the Authorities reaction would be the last of his concerns.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I am American BTW.

Why should you move to Palestine ? You're not Palestinian.

Why should Israelis move to Palestine ? They're not Palestinian, either.

It was to Darnell's point of not choosing to live in Palestine with your kid when you are an American citizen. I'm not blaming them for being there, just saying I wouldn't choose that. Granted there might have been extenuating circumstances (job opportunity, sick relative, etc) I dunno. We could debate that all day. In the end, I don't care about the politics, I only care about the safety of my kid.

Not leaving my safe room today, cause I don't want to get sexually assaulted either.

Victim blaming is keeping me safer!

Point taken, we all put ourselves in danger of some sort everyday no doubt. But there are levels of this.

Israeli settlers and the soldiers and government that is protecting and enabling them are war criminals.

Alleged war criminals. I am not aware of any Israeli being arraigned or convicted of a war crime in this conflict.

I do think there is plenty of fodder to change this though.

Maybe Israelis are the ones makes the "wrong choice."

Agreed.

Palestinians are just so unreasonable.

I've met many, many reasonable Israelis and Palestinians alike.

However, the leadership on both sides are 'just so unreasonable.' If they had sense of reason, they'd have found a way to work through their problems by now.

The parents aren't American citizens.

What would be your opinion of governments and armies that illegal occupy foreign lands and carry out ethnic cleansing against the residents, destroying their homes and farms and seizing their property, in order that the foreign country's citizens may illegally move to that occupied land and colonize it ?

My mistake, I thought that was established earlier in this thread when people were talking about the kid being an "anchor baby" or something of the sort.

There are quite a few red herrings that have been posted in this thread. It's a time-honored hasbara tactic.

Read up on the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, particularly Article 8: War Crimes.

I am familiar with the Rome Statute, that is why I stated that there is likely enough evidence to arraign/convict.

However, they are not war criminals until convicted of such crimes. The Rome Statute doesn't change that.

They are not "convicted" war criminals until they are convicted.

This is the reason for Israel's freak-out over international recognition of the Palestinian state. Next stop: ICC.

Ya, the kid is an anchor baby for the parent's retirement. It's just as simple as that.

Unfortunately, the parents decided to NOT remain in the USA, and somehow they had residency status IN the usa.

I don't care about the Palestinian country problems with Israel. I focus solely on the parents' decision to not be in the USA.

Sure, technically, he is an anchor baby, comparative to same technique the chinese use for their retirement plans.

I admire WOM much, and she knows that - so I pray I not spar with her over the COUNTRY issues, as I've no dog in that race, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
