Eh wot ? His parents already have legal residence in the US. (That's how he happened to be born in the US !)

Then they both made the gravest of errors in making the decision for their son to be in Palestine.

It's sad, they can't fix their error, alas.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Who are you, Mike Huckabee ?

At least you didn't say that German Jews shouldn't be in Germany. That would make you like... a Nazi or something.

whoa - I not make a blatant statement about a country, at all.

It was pointed, directed solely at the parents, who are responsible for their decisions and how and where they raise their child.

They made a wrong decision, and now there's consequences about it.

That's it, really.

Why is their decision "wrong" ? They haven't broken any law; they are living on their land in their own home.

Never going to Turkey is the best way to avoid any chance of getting put into Turkish prison.

Moving to Palestine/Israel and throwing rocks, actually or allegedly, subjects one to the possibility of getting on the wrong side of Israeli rock throwing laws.

The laws are arguably harsh and arguably unfair. But if you don't move there they really can't subject you to them.

Israeli soldiers and settlers in the West Bank are the ones on the wrong side of the law, not Palestinians living in their own land.

I think his point might be that they should raise their kid in the states over a volatile area purely based on their child's safety. As in, the most important thing, above culture, heritage, political beliefs, should be ensuring your child is in the safest possible place. Since they're American citizens, Darnell thinks they made the wrong choice between the two places and therefore jeopardized their child's safety.

At least that's what I assume his point is, you never know.

Wouldn't it be just great if all the Palestinians would just leave ? Then they could stop making the "wrong choice" to stand up for their own rights in their own land, and get the hell out of the way of the Great Israel expansion project.

Palestinians are just so unreasonable.

Yeah FTR, I've never been a fan of the "if you don't like it you should move" argument. I don't agree with what he's saying BUT I wouldn't want to raise my kids there. Maybe its just a perception thing but it seems like (including the story you posted to start this thread) there's always something insanely unjustified or scary going on in this area. With all the violence that happens in the states these days, I might be crazy to raise kids here. Well, the wife's a Canadian citizen so there's always that option. A bit cold though.

Israeli settlers and the soldiers and government that is protecting and enabling them are war criminals. Ethnic cleansing - including terrorizing families into fleeing their homeland - is a war crime.

Maybe Israelis are the ones makes the "wrong choice."

I googled his name. Not much came up. Seems his father splits his time between New Orleans and Jordan. No mention of status or citizenship.

There was it seems a US Citizen killed in one of these incidents 2 years ago.

I remember there seemed to be an epidemic of rocks etc been dropped of bridges onto passing cars in the UK, a woman was killed when one went through the windscreen.

Yes, I know what your and their opinions are on this. But, its prob not getting resolved anytime soon so I'm not going to raise my kid there. I don't mean to sound insensitive to the plight of your people. My hopes go out to those that have to live their lives in the types of situations.

I am American BTW.

Why should you move to Palestine ? You're not Palestinian.

Why should Israelis move to Palestine ? They're not Palestinian, either.

Good point. I just cut up my drivers license. That way I wont have to worry about getting killed by a drunk driver.

I am not going to move to East LA.

Odd when you have choices.
