Hello dear VJ friends, I have a new question:

I went to have the medical examination, blood test and got the vaccinations last Thursday 11( April.) in the Dominican Republic. They said they will send the results directly to the consulate,

Is this accurate?, will they send the results on time for the interview which is going to be next April 22nd?.

I would like to hear about similar situations please.

Thank you! ;)

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

There seems to be conflicting reports. In the past (meaning 2011 and prior) you had to pick up the medical results the day before the interview and take them with you to the interview. However, as far back as a year ago and until now, people have been saying the opposite. They were told that the medical results were going to be delivered to the Consulate before the Interview date. It may vary case-by-case? If they told you that they would send it, then go by what they told you. If you feel like it would be safer for you to pick up your results, then by all means go and do it. Just call them first to make sure they are ready and ask them what you need to bring (ie: Cedula).

Ya1127 After May 1st medical rates are different because is not flu season, she paid $350 since it was before may 1st. my husband would be paying $290 his medical will be after may 1st, means we saving 60$ out of the 350$ if the medical was done before May 1st.

There are those that have had interviews recently that were told the medical would be sent to the Consulate only to find out the day of it was not and they had to bring it back at a later date. I would suggest to pick it to be on the safe side.

You could check with a civil surgeon in your area and clinics to get prices for vaccinations. A k1 is not required to have shots until you file for adjustment of status. In my area they were on par if not cheaper than the Dominican.
