Hi VJ Members,

I am going to sponsor my parents for green card. I have 3 household members & including my parents, I need to meet for 5 members which stands at 34,462 @ 2013 FPL (equivalent to min. of 2872/month)

I make money by working overtime. When i calculated my last 3 months pay stubs, the average income comes up $2970. When I work just regular hours (40hrs a week) I make ($ 2040* 12 = 24480 annually). But the fact is that I always get min. 50 hrs a week & more, sometimes around 60 hrs. I do not think my employer would write me a letter saying I would have guaranteed(steady)50 hrs overtime, as it contradicts itself with the meaning of OVERTIME work. My common sense was if i have 12 biweekly pay stubs (for 6 months)making gross income greater than required 125 % of FPL, then why should not this be worked as an steady income, right? again, The counselor might have different (better?)common sense then me

Now I am wondering should i go ahead & shoot I 864? ps note that, i am not being able to find joint sponsorship & i have only about 15-18k on my saving account which would help only for around 3000 shorthand (15k/5 = 3k in case of parents)

I appreciate you guys help in advance !!!

File without the joint sponsorship, since that is your only option, like you said. No other household members have income?

I think that your tax returns will be the most benifit that pay stubs. So what does your tax transcripts show.

It does not seem like you can do anything other than to send what you have.

Maybe you let the process drag on into next year and that time your transcript for the next time will show that you are above the required level.

Good luck.
