Hello,

My fiancee and I have been approved for a K1 and are wondering which documents he should have officially translated NOW so we will have them ready when he comes to the US. All I can think of now is his birth certificate (required as a second form of ID for the marriage license since he doesn't have a SSN). Is there anything else we should consider translating now so we can avoid time delays later? Thanks, any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

You should keep in mind the audience at USCIS (American, English-speaking) that will review your documents for AOS processing and beyond in your immigration journey. I would suggest that you review the AOS guide with that in mind to get a good idea of what you may need in the near future.

Get a couple of copies of those documents, it is usually far easier to do that now, than later.

Remember that the IO at the AOS interview can ask to examine any document. At our interview, the IO wanted to see our divorce decrees… I know, go figure!

:time: It helps everyone that uses the forum.

Good luck.
