Hey geoffcgt, I want to ask you if the congressman must to send me an email when he ever worked in my case? afraid.gif

After mailing my congressman. Here is the reply

Dear Mr. XXXXXX.

Thank you for contacting my office and allowing me to be of assistance with your case. Although we cannot guarantee the outcome, we do guarantee that my staff and I will do everything in our power to help you receive a fair, timely, and, hopefully, positive response.

As we address your concerns, please bear in mind that we cannot force an agency to expedite your case or to act in your favor. My office is not able to offer legal advice or recommend any particular attorney. The rules of the House do not allow me to intervene in, or influence the outcome of, cases that are under the jurisdiction of any court. Finally, our office has a limited ability to intervene in matters that fall under the jurisdiction of local or state governments but we may be able to assist you with contacting the correct agency or obtaining information that will help you address your state or local issue.

My staff and I are able to facilitate the processes involved, gain a fair hearing for your case, and advocate for a favorable outcome. To begin the process, federal agencies require that I have a written and signed authorization to obtain information. This requirement falls under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974. This Privacy Release must be signed by the person directly affected unless the person is a minor or a third party has a notarized Power of Attorney. In the event that your case involves medical or health-care information, you may be asked to complete additional releases specifically authorizing access to medical records.

Enclosed please find a Privacy Release form as well as an Assistance Request form for you to complete . These completed forms should be returned to my District office. They can be sent via email xxxx@.xxxx , sent via mail to: Rep. xxxx xxxx Road, Suite 103, , VA 22003 or faxed to (xxx) xxx- xxxx . I regret that the law has added inconvenience to the process, but once we have these forms we can begin to work on your case. A member of my Constituent Service staff will contact you to let you know that your request has been received. You will also be contacted throughout the process to keep you informed of the status of your case and of actions that have been taken on your behalf.

Again, thank you for allowing me to be of assistance. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Stark, District Director at (703) 256-3071. My staff and I look forward to working with you.

Enclosed:
