All I can say is......things that make you go hummmmmm.....you lied once, good luck getting getting out from under that lie, USCIS never forgets almost like a elephant. I just saying, lie to USCIS, the courts, or the police and you might be in a hole you cannot get out of. Bona fide marriage or not.

hello everyone about this topic of my situation i think mine is a very difficult one but ididnt give up for it so rightnow i still have my OFP for 2 years and my husband did give the divorce paper in front of judge so i was working for it this week too for another atty. to take my divorce case so i will have an appointment this week to talk to atty. and then my immigration i did file my I-360 submit MAY 22,2013 and then june 7,2013 i got receipt notice saying that i could check my status at online so when i check it online it says june 5,2013 they did send a letter for requesting for more evidence for my affidavit to my I-360. so i did call them at june 10 early morning saying that i didnt get any request letter so they told me to wait 15 days if i didnt got it yet since it was saying june 5 but so happy that i got it june 10 at afternoon and they requesting more evidence is my good moral character that asking to the police clearances about my record so i was happy because they didnot request alot they just asking for the police background so i did work that today and pay for so they could give me my background check:) so after that i will send it to the immigration right away so we will see whats gonna happen next. GOD is helping me for it and i will always pray that it will be over soon and got my answers for my situation to be more better....

Look, these negotiations with your husband require more competency than you likely possess. I hope your Legal Aid lawyer is a Family lawyer. Work very closely with your lawyer, and always push to understand all of your options. You should worry about the outcome here much more than about your VAWA petition. Compared to varied outcome possibilities here, VAWA is relatively straightforward - no adversary!

Still, don't even think of handling VAWA by yourself - as you can't afford another mis-step. Ask your lawyer to set a consultation with immigration specialist

oh i see what you mean is my immigration sorry about that i thought all about my cases cause i got OFP,divorce and immigration papers so yeah at the first i did tell that i have file already a I-360 at may 22 and then june 7 got a receipt notice that they got my package my letter to them and then june 10 got a notice again that june 5 they need a request for evidence which is the saying there that they need only a background check from police clearance in the past 6 months of my 3 years live here in us so today i did work on that already and just waiting for the respond from police to got my background check and when i got it i will send it to the immigration for my I-360 case. if your asking about my first green card that filed i did ask the immigration about that and they say that they have nothing to do with my husband anymore because this is my papers for my own its a self petition so no matter what my husbands gonna say bad things or anything they dont gonna deal with it no more because my husband did withdraw his affidavit of support already for filing that first green card was just remove so immigration wont care about what my husband's gonna do or say because its totally gone all the papers when i was with him when he did withdraw and affidavit for me.. so they said we dont care about your husband no more nothing what you filing now is only yours and nothing else gonna involve its only about your self now its your own paper works now. so if you still dont understand then ask me again what you dont understand thanks.

Not as important for me to understand as it is for you to understand LOL.

1. Your divorce negotiations are much more complex than immigration, because it's an adversarial process. You better spend a lot of time discussing all of your options with an attorney specialized in divorce. You are unlikely comprehending all options available to you out of the divorce negotiations.

2. You seem to assume that once you get good conduct certificate, your VAWA is taken care of. Likely not. You need at least a consultation with a VAWA practitioner

OP knows exactly what she's doing she will be OK....probably smarter than

legal aid atty

oh no eheheh but thank you i just making my self to be more stronger of what i have been through... its really hard and lots of people dont really believe and they are more scared of whats gonna happen more than me because they thought that i couldnt do this because they could really see how scared am i and how i been through to my husband's hands but i did try things now and just think positive and that possible happen because im thinking why did others just live with their husband like 1 week after marriage or like how many months and then leave him even their husbands are treating them well or kind to them but still they got out of the situation they even got to be a us citizen and a green card holder why not me that i was abuse by rape, not enough food to eat. cant go out cant talk to anyone cant go walk or go anywhere just lock me up and other things he did to me but i still hoping that he would change but he didnt so even though i didnt know about the outside world when i left him after 2 years marriage its just that my entire body and heart saying that you need to get out of here or else you will die pretty soon if your thinking that you so much inlove with this man you married just get over it and get a life because i had enough i just couldnt take it anymore... you see if he would try to fight me by going in court or any hearing he dont have anything to say about me because i been a good wife to him and married in good faith i just been slave to him thats why i was look so weak in his eyes because i did everything what he wants me to do because i wanted him to be happy to have me but no didnt work.... so now i am just lucky that immigration is still kind to me and give me opportunity to still stay here and work my papers as i could.. you see my papers been process so quick and that is my thankful and just pray and pray for it that it will be done soon and my prayers been answered cause its smoothly happen and not even making me so difficult and i am happy for that because i did pray that all the time...

my divorce case is that what i been having and appointment this week to meet the atty. i called and shes willing to take my case. because my husband did already process it so basically i will see what will the atty. says about it when i will meet her. so my other atty. of my OFP saw my divorce paper and he was saying it is not hard of my divorce case because i dont have child and my husband did a prenap. agreement and the law of the place i been married is when i did file it then my husband didnt sign it still automatically divorce and besides my husband did file it already and just give me the papers to sign:)
