there are two aspects:

1. has household net worth increased during marriage

2. if wife was abused, he should pay

As for "getting away": she did, physically. But she may only get over the enslavement history, if he's ordered to compensate. This legal matter is developing right now, and he's hoping to close it with an offer she doesn't comprehend. He made an impression on her that if she signs, it will expedite her matters. But there is no benefit to her matters in expediting this settlement. She won't hear from USCIS at all for another year. Then, whether I-360 is approved or denied, she'll still be in the US for a very, very long time. It's better if she gets support money, especially if a lump-sum can be agreed upon (even "without admitting or denying"). Lawyers are good in negotiating; we can only be guessing...Let her attorney explain; why do members here shut her up...let her focus on working with divorce attorney

She's right about one thing: none of you shows any willingness of putting yourself in her place. She had no capacity to understand anything before - it should be clear to everyone. Now, she knows the language, she has support network, she has lawyer, she was granted 2y order. There is no comparison between her now and before

im gonna study more english and then i want my course to be a nurse smile.png one day^_^

If you're going to stay in Minnesota, you might want to rethink that schooling choice. The Nursing schools in Minnesota have over produced nursing graduates making it a much harder field to work in. But then with so many I hear of leaving that field, it might start balancing out soon to.
