We had our biometrics appt on Friday. How long does it generally take to get the work permit once the biometrics appt is done?

August 2, 2012 - NVC sent case to Embassy
August 3, 2012 - Embassy received
August 8, 2012 - Packet 3 received
August 16, 2012 – Received interview date
August 17, 2012 - Packet 4 received
August 17, 2012 - Received medical exam date
August 23, 2012 - Medical exam (PASSED)
September 7, 2012 - Interview (APPROVED)
September 21, 2012 - Visa Received
October 4, 2012 - POE (Miami)

October 19, 2012 - Applied for ssn & driver's permit

October 26, 2012 - Received restricted ssn

December 26, 2012 - Got driver's license using I-94
December 28, 2012 - Got married

Count 2-3 months after your NOA date. If you look at your timeline, you have an estimate based on timelines from other members. It may not be those exact dates, but it's usually pretty close.

Be aware though, that if you are scheduled for an interview quickly, you may never receive an EAD.

K-1 Visa Timeline AOS Timeline

- Aug 31st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F package - May 29th, 2012 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP package

- Apr 13th, 2012 - Visa received - Aug 24th, 2012 - Green Card received

ROC Timeline

- May 19th, 2014 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

- Aug 8th, 2014 - Green Card received

N-400 Timeline

- Dec 29th, 2021 - Filed online. Got notice that biometrics will be reused.

- Now waiting...

On my timeline, it says "Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between April 20, 2013 and April 22, 2013." But my case was delayed by a month for not receiving the biometrics appt letter, so we got the biometrics done like a month later than expected. So now our adjudication may be delayed as well.

Check our signature block. My wife and stepson got their EAD/AP combo cards about a month after the biometrics were "captured."

YMMV.

Ours was approved after 56 days and received the actual card on the same day as our interview (63 days). Took the card in replace of Conditional Green Card

When you do biometrics generally doesn't change your EAD timeline.
