I've been reading many different things online regarding this, and have seen that there is a high likelihood that immigration can and will access my skype, emails and facebook account to read through my messages.. is this true for those of you who have gone through it? I am an extremely private person and really dont like the idea of someone reading through my things, because in this instance it seems that they are looking for the smallest, smallest hint of a suggestion that someone had every intention of getting married on the VWP instead of leaving when they were supposed to. Things could very easily be misconstrued.

They won't probably look there unless they suspect fraud. But, get used to the idea that it will be an uncomfortable time for you. Even if they don't look at your facebook, they do look through your taxes and bank accounts and things, and it is uncomfortable. But once it is over, it's over. They do this every day so your information is not exciting or interesting to them, just another one in the list.

They can look at your public stuff, just like anyone else can. There is some evidence from stories here that some USCIS offices and US embassies abroad google applicants.

There have been a few cases where the beneficiary has been asked to log into their email or Facebook at the interview (to show non-public stuff), but this seems to be rare and only when the interviewer already has suspicions about the bonafide relationship.

Yep, I once had an official ask for my email password. Feels 'ew', even though I had nothing to hide.. Just run through your email and delete anything you don't want people to see. (clear your trash folder too!!)

It's a nerve wracking time, and it's easy to become paranoid . . . but I just had a thought . . I wonder if they access this site and try to match us up with our applications???

They have been known to refer to people at interviews by their VJ name.
