You cannot attend the tourist visa interview with her,

and all the question will be asked on her on the language of the country where she is going to get it done !

Here in Brazil I had all the question asked in portuguese to me !

She just need to show them that the time she will remain in the country meet the things she is going attend, bring with her proof of intent to come back to her home country ! And that she has financial conditions to pay her stay ... ;)

Everything will be fine...

Most Embassies/Consulates hire local people that can speak the native language and English. My MIL only speaks Russian or Kazakh and she had no problems with the tourist visa interview or traveling to the US. We did e-mail her a "letter"she could show the CBP and gave my wife's and my phone number if there was any problems or questions. I was told that CBP can call an interperter if they need to. Most Embassies will not let anybody who does not have business there into the Embassy and that goes for USC too.

Ok, so with the embassy interview she shouldnt have problems,

What about when she will try to enter the USA, i mean POE? How it works then?

Im not sure if someone will travel with her? I think my cousin will, but wish to know if they will call someone to translate, or the person that will travel with her can be tranlator...?

Book her flight through Chicago. A lot of airport personnel there speak Polish.

Ok thanks,

But on the port of entry she needs to pass interview, how it works then, are they calling someone to translate or the person she will travel with can translate everything?

Sorry for all of those questions but i want to be sure she will have no problems during her trip.

People traveling together can walk up together to the CBP officer's booth.

If your mom will be with someone speaking English there should be no problem whatsoever.

There really is no "interview" at POE. All they normally ask is what's the purpose of the trip and the expected length of stay.

Whether she speak English or not is not a factor. Really, what she would need to provide some proof of, is that she is not intending to stay in the US. That means usually a job and/or a family to go back to.

All questions will be in Polish, so there is nothing to fear there.

There is no interview, but she would be ask where is she staying, the purpose of her visit and how long she is planning to stay. Not speaking English at all would be an issue. Not sure if they would have someone handy to translate but I've seen often other passengers helping out.

If port of entry is NY or Chicago, there is a good chance that there will be other people who can translate.

That is correct. Make sure that upon arrival, mom (and her travel companion) fills out the white (and not the green, reserved for VWP people) I-94. Unless she's flying LOT direct into the US, other airlines will depart from other cities in Europe where most would be on the VWP.

Is not a biggy, but you just don't want a nervous mom to run into a bad-hair day CBP at entry with the wrong i-94.

I almost forgot that there is that i-94 form, are they still giving it on the plane?

When i was flying to the US back in 2008 they were giving it on the plane
