I'm writing a timeline in english so my wife can print and give to the visa interviewer.

so does she need to get it notaried in vietnam?

and is a timeline even necessary?

i'm a us citizen sponsoring my wife through legal marriage.

Are you CR1 visa type and preparing for Interviewer Step in US Embassy VN?

Timeline is optional as CR1. I knew some people who passed interview without timeline.

In my opinion, if your evidences is weak, you should submit a timeline as a clarification.

About notaried timeline, no place in VN can do it. If you have time, you can get it in US. If not and you want to have it to make everything perfect, your wife can submit a timeline without notary as supporting for the interviewer easily to view your case.

All a notary does is very the ID of the person signing the form is who they claim to be. Some will state that a copy is a true, correct and exact copy of the original. How will having a notary notorize your timeline help? They do not know if the timeline is correct. The only way to make it more legit would be to include a sworn affadavit that the timeline is true and correct and have it signed by the person swearing you in. I do not see the need as anything you submit to the USCIS is to be the truth as to the best of our knowledge. So why do to the extra trouble?

Good luck,

Dave

^ I wrote, "us citizen sponsoring wife through legal marriage" this is CR1, Yes?

You make me confused ^^, what is your case status now?

To understand about immigration visa type: "click on Guides\BEGIN HERE: What Visa Do We Need?" (sorry, I cant post a link :P )

If you are K1, you have to submit a timeline. Others, timeline is optional.

Hope it can help

^ To Dave&Roza and E-A,

I read on here that you need to notarize a timeline, but I guess for my case, I dont need to because i'm a CR1/IR1. I'm going to include a timeline without notarization for them anyway, just for the heck of it.

My wife is having a visa interview at the end of April.

Yes timeline is important. If you aren't there for the interview then I would suggest you notarize it. Make sure your wife is fully aware of what you write on the timeline because the CO will ask questions base on the information you put down.
