I really dislike Christmas. It is FAR too commercialised. This has ruined it for me completely. Putting up the decorations in November? Give me a break!

AHHH mags i can relate but let me share this with you and see if it changes your outlook. First totally christmas has become as i say "merry christmas to all, who can afford it". reason for that statement is how much this holiday has been taken over by big business, greedy corporations, bratty kids who thing the days is all about what they get and the price or brand of the object they get, and christ knows if they don't get what they wanted to the letter those parents are gona have hell to pay. And yes decorations up at the end of october, wich makes me say where the hell did we loose thanksgiving, us people there.

So ya see all this and yea its pretty sad and bleak, but christmas, yule.. what ever you celebrate, what ever religons you are, be it christian,catholic,pagan,wiccan,jewish etc all comes down to this. The season is in your heart!! its truly a time when you still can say merry to some one and not be looked at like some idiot. if you forget about what the business have done, go out side on a cold winters night snow falling christmas lights all glowing and just listen. its a silence thats peaceful a time where yea alls going to hell but for one night one hour no matter how long everything is ok. ya see, if you close off the bad and the filth and grime that people have made of the season and just remember what it was like as a kid seeing that tree, the family, the food, the feeling of just some godly force around you and the warmth.. then you truly have found the true meaning of christmas.

so inclosing during this time show others the true meaning of the season, love like you never have loved before, care like it means everything, always say see ya soon cause good bye is so perminet, and always go to bed happy, with life and your other, you may not have another day make the best of it now, and during this holiday season...

now answer to your question, snow, the smell of the smoke from chimneys on that christmasy nights, the lights more snow, and this, ya see the first time i ever met ellie aka stalar on this form here, was dec 2nd of last year. what a way to start a wonderful season, she was my christmas angel and always will be! i asked her to be with me forever on christmas eve on a wooden bridge overlooking a ravine and river as the sun was going down and the snow fell. ya see thats christmas not how much money, items, cloths, house etc ya have, its what you have in your heart and your faith that makes this holiday so special. bright blessing all, and a early Merry christmas!! dan

I like putting up Christmas decorations with my mom, it's always the two of us and this is will the first year we won't do it together, and in fact, I think I won't have decorations at all this year, since we're just beggining life together and can't really afford it. Next year I plan to have my first real Christmas with my husband, at our own house.

Wow, I agree with you there. To me, Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ, spend time with my family and do things with my loved ones. Nowdays, it's all about the presents. I remember when I was younger, Christmas was time to spend with my dad and presents. Now, when I get up, I wait for others to open their presents and spend time with one another before my presents. Businesses just love making money out of people this time of year. That's all they worry about. It ruined the whole point of 'giving'. Bah-hum-bug! (sp...lol)

On another note, Thanksgiving has been lost. Everyone just thinks of it as an extra day out of school, work, whatever, and grub-time. No family needed. YEAH! RIGHT!!!

Now back to Christmas. It is no longer a 'Christmas tree' for some, it is now the holiday tree. That's a joke. Why change something that has been around for years? What next? Jesus wasn't born in a manger? Or born on Christmas? No, please tell me people are not THAT pitiful!

Powerful words my friend, and should be used all year 'round. Not just Christmas. This IS the reason for the season!

As for your love, well I'm happy for you, and that Christmas makes you think of your SO. The past three Christmas's have been hard for Ryan and myself, as we have been apart the whole time. BUT this year, I get the best present of all, my fiancée, whom I love very much.

I love listening to Christmas music, putting up the tree, smelling the tree, being next to a fireplace snuggled up and warm with warm cider, looking outside at the snow. And yes, "its a silence thats peaceful a time where yea alls going to hell but for one night one hour no matter how long everything is ok...", I have been there MANY times, looking outside on Christmas. Spent the past three Christmas's doing that when it would get too much for me to handle.

This year , my baby will be home for Christmas!

I love Christmas! I love the decorations, and the get-togethers with friends and family during the holidays. I like putting up the Christmas tree, and I like the cookies that people bake. I just wish the weather down here would be a bit more consistently chilly through December. Sometimes Christmas day is in the upper 70's/lower 80's.

I do celebrate the birth of Christ during it (even though technically he wasn't born Dec 25th), so no matter how commercialized it gets, doesn't affect if I celebrate it. I just choose how much commercialism to involve myself in. I do love buying gifts for others though. Especially for people who don't have a lot of stuff.

ahh i hear u guyss..

My husband alwasy say that i'm a buddhist with a christmas tree I LOVE to have christmas tree and like the ideas of christmas - and ofcourse i know the religion part of it but as it's a good and fun holiday - I like it anyway and I also insist on having a tree in our house

I love the food - I love the thought yo have to put into finding a right presents (even no presents involve is still fine) - I love the family gathering and I love the fun of trying to surprise or make other people happy when they see the presents or something special... (not limited to christmas though ) I think it's a nice holiday

oh.. and also the smell of the chirtmas tree iss soooooo great
