Hello, I received my NOA2 letter today in the mail for my K-1 Visa application and it says and I quote, "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance.

Does this mean that this bypasses the NVC and goes straight to the consulate or does it go to the NVC and then the consulate. Should I contact the consulate in a week or so to get instructions. Any help is appreciated. Thank You

Congrats on your approval! Your petition should go to NVC first. They assign it a a case number then forward it to your consulate. Give it a week or so after your NOA 2 and then call NVC to get your case number. You'll need that in case you have any questions for the consulate later on.
