My Fiance is a bit nervous about the POE this will be his first time flying and his first time to the USA...

so he is very worry he might say something or might not say enough. I think he thinks its going to be like an interview again... so if you all can help and please give me some of the questions they ask you when you enter the usa at the POE. My fiance does not want to be deported for not having been prepared for answering them. I think they only ask where you are going to, what is the address and your fiancee name.. then if you been around any live stock have anything illegal.. right or does he actually get another interview again? Does he need to show them some of our emails and letters? He is so nervous so please anything to help ease his nervousness would really help. The lady at one of the airline offices really scared him when she said if you don't buy a return ticket to they will deport you... but we called the embassy and they said one way ticket is fine. but like I said he is nervous and I am too. I miss him so much his POE is Chicago so please any help from any POE would be most apprecitated he has a 4 hour flight delayed over I hope that is enough...

Thank you in advance for your help

SIncerly a fiancee in waiting,

Christina

No worries!

The interview at the POE is NOT a repeat of the visa interview. The whole process is set up to catch as many problems as possible at the consulate, so that people with visas can be admitted quickly and routinely under normal circumstances. The people at the consulate checked the validity of the relationship and found it was OK before they issued a visa, and the people at the POE will NOT reverse that decision unless they spot some obvious evidence that clearly wasn't available to the consular staff. At the POE, they normally just ask a few administrative questions, and they confirm the mailing address where future paperwork should be sent. They don't ask to prove the relationship again.

There's a remote possibility that he could be found ineligble at the POE, but that won't happen without something unusual and drastic being wrong. Something like being discovered with contraband, or admitting to being already married when trying to enter on a K-1 visa.

He doesn't need to worry, study, practice, or prepare for the POE. The only paperwork he needs is his passport with visa, and the sealed brown envelope they gave him after the consular interview.

Our POE was JFK but i assume it's basically all the same. My wife handed the officer the envelope, there was a camera in front, they took a picture, then asked my wife to follow him, and i was with her all along, they took us to this room, it looks almost like a traffic ticket courtroom except the people sitting on the Podium were INS officer. The took the passport, remind her that she has 90 days to get married, and Welcome to the USA. Like a breez so i would say don't worryyy

Gone but not Forgotten!
