Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Filing for a USC spouse visa (IR-1/CR-1) and not sure what comes next? Check out the VJ IR-1/CR-1 guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Well my husband told me on the phone this weekend (when i told him it's been 7 months) that now we're 7 months closer to the NOA2 than when we filed. Lol. Not helping much but still. We should all be strong or it'll be really hard to make it. *hugs*

this is encouraging..... thanks for the nice words guys....good.gif

Here I was getting all excited that people are being told they might hear something by the end of October and thinking that might mean good news for me too....when our landlord calls and says he wants to sell the flat my husband and I are living in in India!

We haven't put this address on any of the I-130 paperwork as I am on a short-term visa and my mail is still coming to where I am staying in the US with my parents, but we were planning to put this address on the paperwork for the NVC packages to show we are indeed living together. Now I'm afraid moving again is going to hurt us! And, if we can't find anything, it looks like I'll have to go back to the US. Really didn't want to have to go back to the US without my husband. :-( Really disliking India AND the US right now.

Could use a little good news. :-(

No need to worry... finding a flat is no big deal in Mumbai, India. Me too staying in Delhi and my wife is going to visit me in December. Thus, we are going to rent out a flat here and its the same, we want to go back together. I hope everything will get settled by Fabruary.

I finally called USCIS for the first time inquiring about noa2. I was surprised that I wasnt put on hold and it took me maybe 5 minutes to reach an operator. However, the operator pretty much read through his PC and said that my file was still awaiting processing. Once it is processed they will inform me. He couldnt say how long I need to wait and I said maybe another year waiting??? And he said he doesnt know. I said ok thanks.

Maybe we will hear something this year. Im not gonna hold my breath.

You can't talk to the first operator who takes the call... that is a tier 1. They can only see what you can see when you look up your case online. You have to ask to be transferred to the tier 2 operator who has more access to the computer database. Sometimes you get a nice one but most times they are rude and not very willing to help. You have to insist a little bit. Tier 2 is the call that is usually a 90 minute wait and they offer a call back feature. They do actually call you back as long as you call early enough in the day.

Try again, see what you come up with.. also remember, you can probably talk to several tier 2 operators in a day and you will get all different answers.

Just sayin'

Talked to tier 2 today and they told me 8-9 months and last week they told me 6-9 months. Lol

Trying to be positive...at least they are agreeing on 9 months as the last number? At least they're not saying 12 months! dancin5hr.gif But is that the projected approval range or in addition to what we have already waited? Coz if so I only have 3 more to go before I reach 9 months! I can manage it!....I think.ClockWatch2.gif

They don't know. They really cannot answer it, because our petitions are in different field offices, or the NBC in Missouri or Kansas. At least if your file is already in a field office, you can form some kind of an estimate based on their processing trends, which in most cases are outrageous. Those of us waiting in the NBC know nothing about when they will start processing, and if we should sign another lease, hand in our resignation, start house hunting, or what. In short, most US citizens who filed their I-130 petition in 2013 got screwed.

Do they mean 6-9 months from TODAY or do they mean 6 -9 months from the time you filed.... THAT IS THE QUESTION. The responses we were getting last month from the senators office were saying " 6 months from the date of this notice" SO if they mean 6-9 months from today... That means the 16 month estimate... There is nothing good about that.

If you haven't files a K-3 , I suggest everyone does.... 5 month processing times are posted... at least you can call and complain after the posted time.. You can't do that with the I-130 right n ow

Yes, that is a very good question. If it is indeed that dreaded 16 month estimate then it's absolutely terrible.

So the 5 months is on the USCIS website, correct? Have you read anything about them officially starting K-3s again on the there?
