I just posted this in March thread but I wanted to share with my fellow April filers... Sorry if you already read this....

I just spoke to tier2.

She was very nice. She said:

1. no, your file has not been transferred to Philadelphia.

2. They only send files to field offices in batches of 500 to the field offices that don't have a big backlog.

3. My files has not been assigned

AND..... after looking through some screens,

4. "I feel like you should get your decision around Halloween time.... "

so, there it is !!! Lie number 1501.

I have to admit...its nice to hear but very hard to believe..

Hi, Tico. Well, item #2 sounds like a reasonable and reassuring management policy... But I don't know how she can predict Halloween. I want to ask her, On what basis can you say that?

Hi all,

I am too April,2013 filer, still waiting for NOA2.... still in 'initial review'... crying.gif

I have a brother-in-law (US green card holder), he applied for his wife on 12th April, and already got approval and got his NVC case number too. He is in process of filing AOS. It is really disappointing for me that my wife is a US citizen and we are still waiting. Called USCIS call centre 3 times but same answer - WAITTTTTTTTTTTTT.........

Timeline

Hello everyone,

I am an American Citizen and filed early April for my Japanese wife. Those suckers got the goods April 25th an I got the notice of acceptance e-mail on the 30th and a week later the hard copy in the mail. I reside in Japan with my wife, moved within the country from one city to another, and changed my address last month. Then yesterday I get this message when I checked my status on the USCIS website:

On September 25, 2013, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

I called USCIS last night, confirmed that my information is correct. Apparently, the USCIS cannot send mail overseas and that since my zip code here in Japan is longer than an American zip code, whoever sent out my mystery mail (the tier 2 I spoke with said that apparently the above message wasn't in the data base yet) from New York just lapped off the last number turning it into a zip code from New York. Funny because I never knew of any city in New York by the name of Tokyo.

Also it is interesting that I received Form I-797 in Japan at my old address, but I can't receive this mail...

Anyway, in the end I asked if I can change my mailing address and stated that my father will accept the letter on my behalf. Everything was confirmed again and again that my father will receive my mail at his address in America. I asked how long it will take for everything to be sent out and the answer was "about 3 weeks to be processed". So now I need to wait about a month just to see what this mystery mail is about. I am supposed to get an e-mail about the mail sooner or later, but I have my doubts. Also, even though the tier 2 confirmed that this is only my mailing address and it will be sent to my father, I fear that some goof in the "system" will make it seem like I currently live in America, causing future problems such as place of interview etc. I could be worried too much but who knows.

Has any one had a similar undeliverable mail problem or a similar situation as mine? Thanks for reading.

I think I found out what the hold up is. Maybe some others can check and see if this is true.

This year the USCIS has changed how they proccess the permanent resident I-130 (For thier Family Members) filing time frame. So now the permanent residents get priority over the USC for the I-130. You can find this at the the VCS processing times on the USCIS Site. Maybe this is not true but I started looking for this after reading a September I-130 thread on VJ.

Hmmm...does a receipt no. starting with MSCXXXXXXX means that my case is being processed at NBC?

MSC is the NBC but it can be either Missouri or Kansas.. You can find the address at the bottom of your NOA1, I believe April filers all went to Missouri

An Oct. NOA 2 would be great. I know of a k1 app that took 2 months for noa 2. That just sucks to hear fiancee apps get processed so much quicker. Im currently in the Philippines with my wife and spent a month together and leaving tonight :(((. It sucks bigtime. Hopefully I can return by december and we can return to states together.
