Hi Longtrip,
I filed a CR1 and it was approved at the national benefit center, I did not get it expedited however, I heard the normal time is now running between 6-12 months. I called this morning (24 Sept 13) and ask about a change in my status and was told it was being work on and then I got a email that same afternoon saying it was approved and on its way to the visa center. All I can tell you is keep calling, I called every 30 days for the last 5 months. (176 days of waiting) I hope this information helps.

the government shut down....

btw.. a friend of mine works at the SS office. She told me they have been working Saturday and Sunday for the last few months but they are getting ready to be furloughed next week. They are just waiting to hear...... She mentioned another government office ( I forget which one she said) already gave up working on Fridays.

This governemnt shutdown better not delay the USCIS
