April 2013 I-130 Filers

Hi Chon 1125,

We sent our paperwork on the 8th and didn't hear anything for ages. We called and they told us we had to wait 30 days before they would release our case number. We did that and we eventually got given our case number and found out it had been received on the 9th April.

I'd just wait until 30 days are over and then call. We live abroad too and it takes forever to get through to someone at USCIS but we spoke to them eventually. Now that we have the number we can check online which is much better.

Hi!!

We both are outside of the us too. My hudsband sent our I-130 package on April 24th but we still havent received any notifications... no email, no letter...

He called USCIS but they said they do not have our record in their system...

I am so worried tooo!!!

we did not received any email ever but after over 22 days we received a hard copy of noa 1 .i understand your worried .did send the package with a track number ..?? to be more sure see with the bank if the check was cleared

I finally got an email which reads "Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing.

I checked my status today and they have not touched my I 130 since april 24. let's keep waiting and hoping to have good news for all April's filers For the meantime I am counting down the days to go see my husband

Yep, I got my NOA1 on April 12th and then touched on Aprill 16th and thats all she wrote so far. I had a previous case that I withdrew back in 2009 so I am expecting a little extra touching ( HA HA )

I hope they get a move on because processing and approvals have been a little sparse lately to say the least. Has anyoone gotten a notice about being transferred from NBC to their local field office???

You won't be notified if your case is transferred to your local office. You have to call and talk to a Tier 2 to find out when and where.

Sorry bit of a newbie question here, but why do I need to know that? (feel i'm missing something...) I am the beneficiary and our case no begins with MSC. Should I be calling somebody about something?!

Don't worry! You don't really need to know, but it's helpful if you want to have an idea of how long your case is going to take to process, or be a bit more hands on. The cases go to NBC first, and once there they usually sit around for a couple of weeks (somewhere between six and eight, as an estimation) before getting shipped out to the local offices. If you can find out when and where you case got shipped to from NBC, you can get in contact with that local office to find out a bit more about the workload they have there, how long it should take, etc etc. Plus, sometimes it takes a while for the cases to get shipped to NVC after you get your NOA2, and if you know where the case was adjudicated you can call them to verify exactly when they sent it to NVC.

But since you just sent your case in last month, I wouldn't worry. Maybe get your hubby to call in mid-June to see if it's been transferred yet.

Oh thank you, that makes plenty of sense and I'm worrying a bit less now! Would definitely like to be hands on so will wait patiently until June...then we'll start the calling!

Haven't seen or heard of any April filers receiving an NOA2 yet. There are some March filers reporting NOA2's though.

hi how match time you think maybe need to get noa 2 if file i 130 abroad. we have the same msc number???????

There are lots of people reporting an NOA2 within 45-60 days, if the USC is also abroad. Every case is different though.
