April 2013 I-130 Filers

Hi!! im the USC my husband and i live in Portland, OR, he is from Mexico but been living here for 14 years. I'm from Costa Rica, have been in the United States for 8 years and I became a USC 2 years ago.

Our NOA1 date is April 2 2013, it have a MSC # and is in the NBC right now.

I hope time goes fast and we all get approvals soon.

That's great. My husband is a USC and I live in Ghana. We filed on the 15th of April 2013. We received our NOA1 on d 17th. Our case was forwarded to the National Benefits Centre. My case status says 'initial review'. I hope we get approved soon. And good luck to all April filers...

We sent our I 130 on April 19, it was received on April 22 and NoA1 text/email on April 25. Our NOA1 receipt # starts with MSC. Good Luck to all of you. I know this can take a long time but we have to stay positive and pray to God to make us strong to go through this long process.

Our package was received in Chicago on April 30th and we received our text/email May 2nd.

Our mailed notice came yesterday!

We also have an MSC number - can someone tell me what the differences are?

And also wondering if its a good idea to start making sure all my vaccinations are up to date for the upcoming medical exam? Anyone else?

Hi! MSC stands for Missouri Service Center which is now known as NBC (national benefits center) and for what I have read 1 of 2 things might happen: 1. It could stay there until they get to your case and be processed by that office directly (you would be very luck, cause that service center is under the national goal of 5 months for case processing) OR it could be sent to your local office (which is not that good, cause city field offices can be very slow and it might take upto 10 months just to get your NOA2).

I am taking care of all my shots, medical history, working on my vaccinations now cause I dont like to be in a rush, I even have all the forms for NVC ready to be mailed when it's due time, but I always like to be 12 steps ahead of the game lol.

So I'm gathering that once you receive your NOA1 you either stay at the NBC or you get transfered to your local office. If my husband is in San Diego, would it be transfered to the San Diego office (most likely) I understand you can't really 100% pre dict these things, I'm just curious. I was looking at this link for San Diego and although it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me, the numbers look lower - which must be a good sign, lol.... hopefully.

Am I on the write thread, my husband isthe beneficiary and I am the USC, but we are both living here in the US. He has been here illegally since 2002, but we are hoping to file a waiver 601a after our i-130 is approved.

If the USC is abroad with the beneficiary, and put the foreign address on the I-130, your file won't get transferred. It will stay at NBC for processing, which is why filers from abroad get approved so quickly. NBC usually just puts the cases in the system before sending them out to their respective local offices, but since the local offices don't have jurisdiction over foreign address cases, they stay at NBC, where cases are usually processed in under 60 days.

We filed April 2013 no NOA1 but the check was cleared 20 days a go

We are both outside of us .so we called them and yes you can call the USCIS FROM OUTSIDE OF US

but they made us waiting in hold for over an hour and the minutes on the phone run out

so spent 30$AND NO INFORMATIONS GRRRR

We both are outside of the us too. My hudsband sent our I-130 package on April 24th but we still havent received any notifications... no email, no letter...

He called USCIS but they said they do not have our record in their system...

Both my wife and I live in Japan. We filed with the Chicago lockbox on 04/16 and recieved our NOA1 on 04/30. Our package is at NBC for processing.
