I think if we start talking politics....it will get ugly.

I think we can all agree that the immigration issue needs to be addressed. I read somewhere that there are 4.5 million petitions through the USCIS and 11.5 million illegals who could possibly get rewarded for breaking the law with amnesty. Those people are already with their loved ones.... and they will get to stay put even though they can't get immediate residency, they are still here.. NOT SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILY... Those of us who followed the law are the ones who suffer... That is the bottom line. As stated earlier in this thread..... the process should only take about 6 weeks. TOPS ! Just my opinion

Neither. Some may say I am a Libertarian but I identify as Independent. No politician represents our best interests, IMO. (Never quite understood why people must choose between Rep or Dem as if those are our only two choices.)

Bingo. As "punishment" for following the law, respecting the J-1 two year rule, and doing everything "the right way", my loved one and I are condemned to be apart and suffer like you say... I just hope this process goes by quickly. I hope that whatever reforms happen with immigration, they will help people going through our process be reunited with our family and loved ones by streamlining it and making wait times shorter.

They should just make all illegals legal.. Problem solved.. It is to complicated to go through 1 by 1 and say this person stay and this person go.. It would be more financial beneficial for the government.. It beneficial for the immigrants. If done correctly it would benefit the whole country in my opinion..

The process we all are going through should be a lot simpler.. Why a simple application can not be all filed at one time and just go to one place I don't understand.. Tax returns are more complicated and has higher volume but get done faster!

I have to agree on the politicians.. Either republican or democrat it doesn't seem to matter.. They seem more like movie stars now.. They say what they are told to say, do what they are told to do, and dress how they are told to dress.. Nothing ever made sense.. Only know taxes goes up every year and everything costs more every year

I filed the I-129f before I found the VJ website. After reading some of the posts here I was very upset that maybe that put our I-130 at the bottom of the pile with the I-129f now attached to it.

I did see that the California Service Center was proccessing the I-129f faster than the I-130 at that time by about 100 days.

But I'm not saying anyone should do both. But I did so we'll see. Maybe I'll get two letters saying USICS is adding 6 months to both.

I wonder if the K1 filers are getting the 6 more month letters too now.

I filed the I-129F as well. Figured we might as well have both running because either way it seems like a slow process. Not to mention all it cost us was a little time and paperwork so we figured why not. Hopefully things will pick up and we wont recieve any extension letters.

From here onwards.

after reading the Feb thread I don't know what to say. this is all getting really old. My heart is down in my feet now .... I sent another email to the advocate who submitted my request for information. I explained that people are getting letters for an extended 6 months processing time... I told her I want to know what is going on.

And now that I'm on a roll, I'm going to email my lawyer too. I'll let you all know what that response is.

I haven't gotten my NOA yet. My file was just signed for in TX earlier this week. If you got an alien number that means someone is working on your case. Id say its a good thing. Hopefully your approval will soon follow.

This country definitely needs some immigration reform. There have been a lot of K1 approved lately. Not to offend anyone, my question is: WHY WOULD USCIS GIVE PRIORITY TO K1, rather than those who are already married? Ohhhh I think I know why.

Here may be the reason - since some government agencies are facing serious budget cuts due to sequestration; one way for USCIS to get more revenue would be to quickly process K1 instead of K3 or IR1/CR1.

Those filing K1 spend an average of $1200 MORE (for adjustment of status/removal of conditions) than K3 or IR1/CR1 applicants.

We definitely will see more K1 being approved that CR1. Ridiculous.
