I am very surprised as they didn't even send you an RFE about anything? I feel very sorry for you..I would have been really mad if I were you too...All I can say is have more patience. Something good will happen for sure!!

Our package was so complete... they have nothing to ask for. The lawyer included all of what I see of the stupid RFE's that come through. We sent both birth certs. extra passport photos, all translations by a certified translator. Divorce decree, marriage cert, pictures of us with family. Nothing is missing.

I know it will happen EVENTUALLY.... but when is the question and 11 months is unacceptable. Neither one of us has any kind of funky background unless being a boring , law abiding citizen is reason to investigate....

I have lived in the same town for all but 6 years of my life. My husband has lived in the same town his entire life.

The background check can't take that long. The conflicting info and the lies are what get me . And they all think they are giving out the correct info. its so discouraging to say the least.

Just a random thought but maybe see if there are any of these people on Linked In, where you might find an email through a backdoor page link or something? Just a wild stab in the dark perhaps but I know you will try anything. Also maybe Glassdoor? look at reviews from ex/current employees and see if there is any mention of an email.

I'm sorry you are having to go through this BS. I'm sorry for anyone who is still being suspended right now with no movement on their case.

I think that I would be making strides at this point for face to face contact with a representative from my congress and not taking a BS answer of 60 days.

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

I also suggest reading this: http://www.visalaw.com/05feb3/2feb305.html (I found this on a thread where gogo was talking about his situation. He wound up filing a Writ of Mandamus.) Personally, I would start getting all your information together that shows that you've been trying to resolve the issues, and start working on a Writ. That way, if it goes past 1 year, you can file immediately. I would also mention to your senator (or congress person)'s liaison that you plan on filing a Writ as soon as it goes beyond 1 year. If nothing else, perhaps a lawsuit or threat of lawsuit will make them move on your petition.


I think if the people who are still waiting once they hit a year start threatening Lawsuits en masse, they will change their tactics rather quickly.

Just read up about this and I agree that everyone who has been waiting more than a year or is outside of the processing time, needs to file this. It may just make them sit up and take notice when they have lawsuits around every corner.

I can't do a lawsuit. I don't have the money for that. Plus I have an attorney.... I sent him an email yesterday asking for status and asked what is going on... his response 12 hours later..

It's a few hundred dollars to file the actual motion. You might get some action just by sending them a threatening legal action letter. smile.png

Ombudsman's office can't do anything until I am past 60 days of the normal processing time... the 60 day excuse again.... unbelieveable

I can't do a lawsuit. I don't have the money for that. Plus I have an attorney.... I sent him an email yesterday asking for status and asked what is going on... his response 12 hours later..

####### that! You have an attorney?! HE needs to be filing the writ for you or you need to be looking for another attorney asap.

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)
