I was looking at flghts.. I do have enough miles for a free flight but not for one that is only 2 weeks out. So I asked my husband if I should book a flight for our Anniversary... he said to wait because hopefully we will hear something by then... WELL.... I better hear something before March 9th. I am going to miss his birthday ( AGAIN) and valentine's Day ( AGAIN) and most likely our 1st anniversary ( SIGH) I'm so angry I could just punch someone .... all this lost time we can NEVER EVER get back. Thank you USCIS for catering to the ILLEGALS !!!

Next week I'm going to call the Senator's office and check on my inquiry and then I'm going to call the OTHER Senator's office and make another inquiry and MAYBE I'll call the congressional office and bother them. AND I will send TWO emails to TSC everyday.

I know what you mean, yesterday was my husband's birthday and I threw a long distance min birthday party from my room for him and our annyversary (from the day we met) is on valentine's day so, yeah. I guess I shouldn't complaint, I'm at NVC stage, but it hurts not being with him through all these important things.

If you're not calling them you should be, but there is an increased wait on NVC end because of USCIS backlog I imagine. You can check my timeline and the NVC thread to see if you're within normal processing times.

Just wondering what could be the reason why a small number of petitions each month get held up with USCIS for an unexplained reason... While almost 90% of the cases go through a sequence and have an answer why is it that a few petitions get held up? Looking at the Feb, March and April spreadsheets tells the story....

What could be the reason? Is it because each case is different and requires extended review and additional back ground checks? or is it because some cases are complicated? or is it to do with the beneficiaries nationality? It simply remains a mystery....

Any thoughts on this? Just feel sorry for those being left out in the queue........

Could previous marriage and divorce be a reason for delay? Or having petitioned for a spouse previously could be a reason for additional checks? Exactly..... They just are not bothered about families being separated....... And why should they when they have other important priorities...... By now we all know and agree that at least the initial stage of the I 130 process is just "B***L S***T"...... Thank god we atleast have this lovely forum which helps us keep our sanity..... Lets hope that Feb brings us some luck..... People like you, me, love my tico, zamsha to name a few badly NEED AN APPROVAL SOON!!!

sounds like a good idea....this would be really helpful for the people whose cases are on hold..... If we have a reasonable sample size, we could derive some sought of understanding, and analyze if USCIS has a specific pattern or procedure in handling such petitions........

As friendly usa, has suggested in the march thread we could combine the cases on hold from the feb, march and april sheets in a new sheet with an additional column where previous marriage & divorce or other circumstances could be entered by the concerned members....

sounds like a good idea....this would be really helpful for the people whose cases are on hold..... If we have a reasonable sample size, we could derive some sought of understanding, and analyze if USCIS has a specific pattern or procedure in handling such petitions........

As friendly usa, has suggested in the march thread we could combine the cases on hold from the feb, march and april sheets in a new sheet with an additional column where previous marriage & divorce or other circumstances could be entered by the concerned members....

I agree, it might shed some light on the reasons. I have a funny feeling that it is totally random.. but it would be nice to know more.

and look what I found just now....looks like its a new way to stall n YET AGAIN.. Knowing FULL WELL that NBC won't answer service requests... This is getting more sickening as the days pass. I will be mentioning this to the senator's office tomorrow.
