April 2013 I-130 Filers

I just get a text message on my case update and was referred to check the case update online. Below is what is showing on the USCIS website and the case status is still saying initial preview. Can somebody please tell me what this means.

On January 23, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

This really is good news. You should be getting your approval any time by tomorrow.... Many people have reported getting approved after an alien registration number change. Keep checking your case status on the USCIS website every 1 hour from now on. Your approval is just about to come any time... Just hang in there!!!

We got the approval email! We were convinced this was going to happen around the 60 day (from transfer) mark, so this was even better news. Best of luck to those still waiting.

Congrats to all the April approvals! Tico girl, I really felt like this was going to be your week. still praying for you. My approval was 12/11 and still no case# from NVC. This whole process is so disheartening. Ugh!!!!!!!

Fingers toes and legs crossed! Yes it's Friday and still no case # for me!! Just called.........nothing. It's just as bad over here my friend. But maybe you'll get k3 and that moves faster. We didn't go that route for financial reasons. And it would only give us a month. Who knows how long it would take to adjust status. So we decided to wait and it's killing us. As for our K3- nevermind, the embassy said because the i130 got approved they won't process the K3, they will wait for the CR1, so i wait again while the i130 has been sitting at NVC since the 7th of jan, called this am, still not logged in.... Ridiculous is an understatement for this bs

Yes it's funny how there's a case # for the 129f but none for the 130. If the petitions were together why not enter it all at the same time? My hubby actually got a letter from his embassy giving him instructions on what to do. But like I said, we are going to wait and hope that once we get the # thing will start to speed up. We are in the same boat. I've also been waiting since 1/7. Good luck!

If I were you, I'd jump on the K-3... if you don't pay the fees for the I-130, they can't proceed with that .. and it sits there for a year.

I believe the instructions form the embassy are for the medical etc... then you can make an interview appt. ( at least that is what CR does)

Im so jealous. I hope that happens to me. I am not really willing to wait out the NVC ####### when I can just go to the embassy and get the same result... THE NVC is a waste of my time. I couldn't care less about him getting a greencard as soon as he gets here.

Yes that's what the letter said........ Medical then interview. But what we r worried about is if he'll be able to work when he gets here without a green card? It's important to us if he can get a job in a month or so. What if we have to wait months for AOS? He has an 18 yr old son who has 1 more yr if high school. ( living with the mother ) and he'll need to send $ home. They only start school at 7 over there in case your wondering. I can float our bills but I would be hard pressed to have anything extra. If $ was no object of course I want him here ASAP but we have to be practical also. We don't have our # yet so it's still possible. Any feedback on this?

Yea, i would have gladly taken the K3, don't care when he gets his green card or citizenship, i just want him home! Now i just hope the nvc doesn't take us on another ride processing the CR1....
