Any idea as to how long a service center takes to respond to an RFE? On average I mean. I mean they say 60 days but for the most part it's earlier than that. Anyone had any experience with CSC?

I got an rfe from CSC for copy of original marriage certificate I guess I only sent in my translated one but they did receive it 12/17 and I still haven't heard anything :( I filed 4/10

Ok Thanks for the pointing out how to get that SR number.

Only few people like you know what to do others on VJ have a no clue except irrelevant blabbering.

When you call the National Customer Service Center and talk to the Tier 1 or 2 they put in the service request and then give you the SR confirmation number. So the service center is probably asking for this number and I imagine you can only follow up with them if you don't get a response within the time frame given to you by the Customer Service Center (usually 30 days).

OMG, my heart just went to my feet. I HOPE this means they are approving K-3s because of the backlog. My K3 was transferred to TSC too on Nov 27th. It is sitting there along with my I-130. Not sure if there are matched up though....

But its strange because both of us were told we are assigned to an officer. WTH is going on here? UGHHH this anxiety is wearing me down really fast.

My I130 and K3 were transfered to NSC on 3 Dec. I got these same emials for both notices on the same day. Along with two other texts/emails just saying the were transfered. Today I got an email saying an Alien Reg Number was assigned to my I130. Maybe these baboons will stop scraching thier asses and approve our petitions. Any day now...

That's my theory, and past Ombudsman Reports seem to confirm that this is a tactic that they've used in the past at AT LEAST one service center. I'll quote the relevant documents if you'd like.

I believe the RFE takes the file out of the pipeline and makes the adjudicator's numbers look better. I agree with you... If you're gonna pick up the file, why not just approve it? Why do you want to look at it again? and why ask for stupid items that weren't even required in the first place?

If you get an RFE, your priority date and case no longer counts towards the total averaged processing time. I'll see if I can find a link to the document that says as much.
