I thought I'd chime in here. It does make me feel better to know others are in the same situation I'm in. I'm still waiting after my file was transferred November 15.

I've written to EVERYONE I can think of within the government, and all I get in response is a form letter saying, "I am committed to securing our borders." What??? It's bad enough that we're all stuck waiting, but those responses are even more insulting. This process is frustrating, expensive, and emotionally draining. I just wish someone would listen to what it does to families. (BTW, the president's office did tell me that his number one concern was keeping families together and protecting the sanctity of marriage...after that, it's all about securing the border. That was super helpful and just made everything soooooo much better.)

if they are so committed to securing the border, then deport all the illegals, hire more border control agents and start processing the petitions who are following the law....

securing the border??? yea right

The border (especially once Canada is taken into consideration) is waaaaaaaaaay to long to totally seal off at any reasonable price. Instead more technology should be invested in drones and other monitoring equipment, while ICE and US Border Patrol nees to be given the authority to track and prosecute illegal immigrant traffickers inside of the US, and to deport those being trafficked. Biological verification needs to be mandated for employment in the US, and biological data needs to be taken from every illegal immigrant and every visa fraudster and used to give them life-long, permanent bans on living or working legally in the USA.

yea, they need to come up with some way to track the visitors that come here too. Right now, nothing is being done to round up the overstays. And they all live the life of a permanent resident. They all work, and drive etc... if I walk out the door and forget my drivers license, you know that is the day I would get pulled over and ticketed ( because I am a USC) Why aren't the police allowed to ask for Greencards or documentation when they pull people over? I am not offended when they ask for my ID.

BS with the VIOLATION of their rights..... If I get stopped while driving in Costa Rica ( and I have) I better have the correct documentation or Im in trouble. They asked me for my passport when I was stopped. They flashed their light on it several times to make sure it was real. I also had to prove the car I was driving was a rental and it was in my name. Since I was all legit, I had no problem giving what they asked for. Here in the US, they let the illegals go. ( and I can back up that statement)

I also heard the new trend is to come through Canada instead of Mexico... I wonder how the heck they do that... aren't there borders control officers and corrals like Mexico?

Do they have to run through the wooded forests and dodge the Canadian Mounties???LOL LLOL LOL LOL LOL Dudley Do-Right hahahahahaha

The problem is that this is all political. Unfortunately, as USCs, our stories don't make good fodder for political ads and positioning. I recently heard an interview on NPR with a guy from Mexico who was complaining that the U.S. government forces them to cross the border illegally because it doesn't issue visas to everyone who applies. I was stunned. Since when does the world have rights to enter and live here?

Immigration is a joke here, and I'm offended when my elected officials give me bs lines about protecting the country's security. The issue of overstays is something else, though. People are shocked when I tell them about visa overstays and how they live here. Do you know how many people bought tickets and came here to stay as soon as they heard talk of amnesty? Don't get me started on that. These fools have no intentions of doing anything more than padding the ballot box.

You're right about letting people go. I personally know four different people who are here without documentation and have been pulled over by the police for traffic violations. They were all allowed to leave without penalty, and one of them already had a deportation order issued. That's an admittedly small sample, but I don't think they are exceptions to the rule because I've heard plenty of similar stories from co-workers. This is why it infuriates me when I hear people talking about how they're all living in fear. The whole thing is a crock.

Force them to cross illegally? really? nobody is forcing them to come here. Not my problem that they were born in a different contry. If you can't get here legally, then don't come. We have laws. Don't come here and expect us to accomidate YOU... UGHHH.. and I heard some news story about some illegal complaining to Obama that they are being deported unnecessarily.. Um really??? the nerve of an illegal to stand up to our president like he has a right to demand something after he broken our immigration laws..... its sickening. and I can't get my husband here the legal way in a decent amount of time. 8.5 months and counting.. meanwhile the illegals get to sleep next to their loved one, go on vacation together and get on with their lives... .

Not far off with the running through wooded forests lol but the mounties don't care (unless someone is sneaking into Canada). I live near both borders. My Canada home is right near the US border and my US home is in San Diego so not far from the Mexico border and holy ####### are they different!! Canada and US is the largest unmanned border in the world so if ppl are coming here to sneak over I wouldn't be surprised. There are literally streets and streets of "hey I'm in Canada *hops* hey I'm in the US" I'm still baffled by the US/Mexico border.

that's nut about hopping from one street to the next....

I think the problem is, the illegals have to FLY to Canada and I think they need a visa to enter. So I guess that is why Mexico is their first choice. Why spend the money on a passport and visa when you can just run through the fields for a few days to the land of opportunity where you can have everything you want by breaking the law? rofl.gif

I really don't get the mindset that people have who break our laws and think they should be treated better than US citizens when it comes to immigration. They don't live in the shadows. I see them everywhere I go, at the mall, eating out, driving nice cars, even using foodstamps that I pay for with my hard earned tax dollars. They are here with their families, yet we all have to be apart for such a long time, especially since USCIS and the left pushed the DACA applications to the front of the line so they will get votes in the next election cycle. Its disgusting!

ps....if you break our laws, you are ILLEGAL, not undocumented. Don't get mad at people who call it what it is. They didn't break the law! I'm getting so sick of the political correctness gone crazy! ranting33va.gif

Yep, They come here illegally and expect the same rights and benefits as the people who belong here or followed the LEGAL path to be able to stay. They are here with their families and in some cases, had more children while here.... and try to use that as a reason or excuse to be able to stay here. But the people who filed the correct way and are separated from their spouse ( and some are pregnant) have to wait ridiculously long time periods .

On that note.... good vibes for those of us who are still waiting. luv.gifeb0dfafc.gifstar_smile.gifstar_smile.gifstar_smile.giftongue.png I sure hope somebody is working at the USCIS today. I have to go to work today so I'll be watching VJ all day ( as usual) LOL LOL
