Hoping to receive my birth certificate Friday so I can mail out my papers, pictures and other docs to my husband....then he can add his papers and send it to TSC...why did this have to happen just before Xmas where no one really works and half the places are closed sad.png anybody has an idea how long it takes for an approval after they receive the requested evidence? Merry Christmas and happy holidays regardless.

TSC has been slower that molasses lately.. Who knows how long it will take... What did they ask for exactly? TSC has been handing out mostly RFE's. My husband and I pray all the time that they just approve us soon. We made sure we sent every single possibility up front to avoid any delays.

I would think that once they receive your info it should only take a short time since it is already on somone's desk. GOOD LUCK .. Keep us posted.

They want our marriage certificate, passport pictures, the biographic forms from both of us, and my (beneficiary) birth certificate, everything except the birth certificate we had already submitted with the i130, but apparently it got lost on its way to Texas. So frustrating. The pictures shouldn't be older than 6 month so I had to get new ones taken, and request an international birth certificate. I hope they will have it by mid January and maybe approve it by the end of January...Nvc will probably need two months as well...plus the interview and medical are still to come :( this is never ending. Why is it so hard for us?! Somebody said I should report it to ombudsman....how and what exactly, do you know? And is is useful to put a letter to the rfe saying that we already submitted most of the requested things but it got lost...? Thanks for your help ticoslove :)

Its so nice how they ask for additional stuff that wasn't on the original checklist. I know we sent passport photos and both birth certs and his was translated by a certified translator... stamps and seals and all the bells and whistles.

If they are annoyed that the forms are old and need to be less than 6 months old then they should have processed your file within 5 months. It does seem never ending... I will be so glad when I never have to deal with them again.

Yeah the biographic forms were outdated too but when we filed those were the only ones they supplied. Oh well, I can use the "pretty" convict-like pictures when I go the the interview....at some point. I will have to deal with them even when this is through....two years later, and then every ten years. Woohoo. J/k

I would. They lost half your case information. If someone finds that information, they could very easily steal your identity. I'd also send in the information again in response to the RFE at the same time.

I have no clue. They lost out marriage certificate, apparently the one working on our case is a bit "behind". In the rfe it states benificiary's birth certificate: a review of form i130 indicates that you seek to classify the beneficiary as your (child OR son OR daughter). However, a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate was not submitted with form i130. Please submit a copy of the birth certificate of (NAME). Blah blah blah, I doubt that I need it since I'm not my husbands child but it is in the rfe so I'll just send it. It's a standard form, it doesn't say my name anywhere, and my husbands adress is wrong too even though he changed it months ago. I think tcs just sends out rfes to get more time or smth. I was expecting an rfe because I thought the photos of me might not have been the correct sizing, which was the case. But the fact that they lost half the other stuff like the biographic information forms and the marriage certificate is just stupid.

Okay will do, is it a problem if I (beneficiary) send an email? My husband is pretty busy, and not good with all this lol :) it depresses him, such a procrastinator, but I love him even for his flaws.

I don't know if the Ombudsman will talk to the beneficiary. Maybe you can write it for him and have him forward the email to them?
