Did you get an alien registration number changed notice or something before the approval?

I received an email two days before I received my approval stating "your name was updated." I have seen others receive the alien registration number change email as well, while the rest receive no such notifications. So much like everything else with the USCIS, it is a massive ####### shoot!

My USCIS Journey...

 

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

08/18/14 - Day 501 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 is approved but no card prodn ordered. Asked to call back in 2 weeks if no update.

08/29/14 - Day 512 - Spoke with Tier 2 IO - said that my I-485 was not approved yet, but my file was with an IO for a decision

09/03/14 - Day 517 - Wrote a request to my Congressman asking for assistance

I completely agree. From where I see it, USCIS seems like one of the most disorganized organizations right now!

Just received the message that our RFE was received by Texas so hopefully things will get approved. Each day going by is a killer.

WOW, how disappointing that it took 2 weeks for them to receive it...

BUT I am happy to hear that somebody is doing something at the TSC. They can pick up my file and just go ahead and approve it. Any time today is fine with me

Our case status is still showing as last touched on 2nd Dec...we were transferred to CSC. Was praying every day that we'd hear something this week...one more day *crosses fingers and toes*

My hubby flies to the UK on Tuesday, would be so amazing if we were approved by then

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent
