April 2013 I-130 Filers

I was just reading a thread about the USCIS slowing down.... Whats up with that? Before I got married, I was stalking the processing times just to get an idea of what I was in for... It was 5 months for the longest time. As soon as I get married and file.... it seems they slowed down to snail speed. How frustrating...

What can we do to speed things up? I was thinking of pulling up a chair at the congressional office and having a chat with them... It might not do anything for my case, but I might feel better..

I wish everyone would update their timelines too. I can't even trust the ESTIMATED date because I know the timelines are not even close to be accurate....

I looked online to see if immigration had a job position open.. I figure it would speed things up if I go to work for them but didn't see any openings.. Haha

I received my NOA 1 on April 9th and the last date in the system shows April 12th. I am trying to be patient....I guess I just got my hopes up when I saw people in February living abroad with their spouses getting NOA 2 in less than 40 days....I thought we'd have our NOA2 by now....

40 days is mainly the case for people who qualify for direct consular filing, i believe. Which is when both spouses reside in the other country (not the US). Not the case when the petitioner is in the US and the beneficiary abroad.

Touched - if you register in the uscis website and add your case to portfolio, you'll see the 'last updated' date. Apparently, means it was moved or looked at or w/e (but not necessarily leading to any immediate results).

I actually thought of that too lol. (If my current employer decides not to take me on in the US.) But then i think it'd be a bit boring. Except for the stories and pics.

WOW,

just noticed that so many April fillers are getting approved and llots of files getting transferred to local office

all of them i checked none were from National Benifits center, NBC,

more waiting for people with files at NBC but good news for other dropbox

Yea,, where is this new information? There haven't been any approvals lately.... just a few. according to Igor, there hasn't been many for the last few months... I would love to know what the hold up is.

as a matter of fact.... it looks like the K-1s are getting cranked out... alot of approvals yesterday. Add that to the people who don't even belong to this site.

mostly K-1s..... Those are getting approved left and right. NBC doesn't process those.

I'm interested in the I-130 stats. It seems they put them all in a box, shoved them in a closet and shut the door.

Does anyone have any idea when getting a senator involved is appropriate? I'm not suggesting I would now, but I was thinking if we hadn't heard in a month we'd look into it... or is that too early?

iam thinking of the same, normally on VJ they say after 5 months is the best time

because if i involve a senator right now they would say u fall under the processing times

so best to wait for 5 months before getting them involved
