I wonder what really takes so long actually to process from NOA1-NOA2... Like my local field office said.. "This application is only to prove I'm a US citizen and marriage is valid".. They do background check (2-3 days for employers to perform) lets just say 7 days for US Government.. To look at application maybe 1-2 days.. I think with all work probably plus wait time should only take maybe 3-6 weeks..

Finished for now!!

NOA1 4-1-13

NOA2 11-14-13

NVC case # 12-9-13

Case complete 1-21-14

Interview 3-3-14

Visa Received 3-6-14

US Entry 03-09-14

From what i've read on here, that's correct. If you use the 'advanced search' above you can look though lots of threads, and read up on the process from people who are in the same boat as you.

OMG you just taugt me something new!! My husband is overseas also but I thougt that only applied if both were overseas... I feel a little better for some reason.

Funnily enough, i was reading an article here about a Q&A session with an ex-adjudicator, it's a couple of years old, but i don't think a lot has changed since. Files are sitting in shelves till someone comes and picks them up, and it's due to sheer volume of the applications that it's taking so long - it's just a lot in the pipeline. That's what it basically says. And since I130 is a fairly simple petition, normally it takes like 15 minutes to check if there's nothing to trigger an RFE.

I'm the beneficiary.

Don't have a timeline? Don't know how to get started with it? Do it for the statistics sake: VJ video guide

Filing for a USC spouse visa (IR-1/CR-1) and not sure what comes next? Check out the VJ IR-1/CR-1 guide

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

Hi! :)
I wrote here a month ago that I got an update about my case on USCIS website, which says "your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed."
We called USCIS to make sure the address was correct and I was kinda excited because some people who got this update were approved in a couple of days, according to the forum...
We finally got our hardcopy of NOA1 last week...yes LAST WEEK!
Although we got NOA1 by email on May 17th.(My husband sent out our I-130 on April 24th)
I thought the reason why it took so long to get NOA1 even by email was that he sent I-130 from the military base in Japan. but I also figured that they made a mistake on his address. The letter was returned to USCIS and they sent it again on June 5th..which is the date when I got an update on the website.

Anyway I have a question.

Is there a stamp saying "Action Completed / Approved for Filing" in the bottom of your NOA1?
I am assuming that it means they corrected the address...but I would like to know if anyone gets same stamp on their NOA1...
Thank you in advance!
P.S. We haven't got our NOA2 yet :(

I was just reading a thread about the USCIS slowing down.... Whats up with that? Before I got married, I was stalking the processing times just to get an idea of what I was in for... It was 5 months for the longest time. As soon as I get married and file.... it seems they slowed down to snail speed. How frustrating...

What can we do to speed things up? I was thinking of pulling up a chair at the congressional office and having a chat with them... It might not do anything for my case, but I might feel better..

I wish everyone would update their timelines too. I can't even trust the ESTIMATED date because I know the timelines are not even close to be accurate....cray5ol.gif

Yessssssss, I'm trying not to get my hopes too high.... I hope they pick up the pace. The stats are depressing on VJ. It looks like there is no movement according to the charts. Igor's list is not very accurate since people don't update thier timelines. Everyday my "estimated" approval dates go further and further out. It was the middle of July a few weeks ago. Now its the end of Aug to mid Sept. How depressing... I' know its only an estimate and VJ is only a small percentage of cases at the NBC... but stillcray5ol.gif

its hard to stay positive....

One thing I don't understand is why the K-1's are getting approved before the people who are already married.......ranting33va.gif

I miss my husband... yesterday his cell phone stopped working and he isn't able to reply to my texts. I really looked forward to his messages throughout the day. Its the little things in life... right?ClockWatch2.gif
