Update on my status.. Today made me first phone call.. Lady I talk to seemed confused.. I ask how much longer because I look online and don't see processing time.. She say I should be looking at NVC processing time not MSC.. I ask if my application is at MSC or NVC... Response was if I haven't received notice then it has to be at MSC.. I ask if it was going to local field office.. Response was no it will go to NVC then back to USCIS unless they need more information.. I ask again how much longer I need wait? Reponse was they can not tell me because every case varies so have no standard set time.. Then she was quick to get off the phone with me because I start getting frustrated with no "actual answers" and almost hung up on me :(

Finished for now!!

MSC-numbered applications are processed in NBC as far as i'm aware (National Benefits Center, ex-Missouri Service Center) or routed to field offices from there.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

MSC office is 2 hours away .. Closest field office is 1 hour 45 min.. Not much of a point to transfer it

All i'm saying is: if the case number starts with MSC, it was received by NBC. It's really up to them if they transfer it to field office or process it themselves.

I'm the beneficiary.

I am from South east Kansas, and only 3 hrs away from USCIS

from my understanding this guys dont care how far , how close,

they go by rules, and they will transfer even though its only minutes away.

Just made enough phone calls.. On hold with this person then transfer then call other office.. Blah blah.. They tell me application not at NVC yet.. It is in processing whatever that means.. But they did tell me I should get something in 8 weeks.. Sooooo time to try to forget about it for another 2 months.. When I get back from trip to wife in August guess I will make the 3 different immigration office calls again.. Good luck to everyone

Your case goes to NVC after you've received your NOA2 (you get your NOA2 once you've petition has been approved.) You might want to read up here - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse - to understand the process a bit better and learn what comes next, it certainly has helped me!

Pretty much all applications get routed to NBC (National Benefits Center) now I have been told by knowledgeable people on this forum, and you shouldn't worry about it, it's normal. After some time, NBC route it to your local office. As you'll see on this thread, lots of us are waiting for our petitions to be sent on to our local office.

I am an April 30 filler. Today was my first call. I spoke to a Tier2 officer. He told me that since my wife lives overseas, the file will not be transferred to a field office. It will be processed at NBC, and the waiting time is 7.5 to 8 months. I am not sure if all of this are right since I heard in VJ that files get transferred.

From what i've read on here, that's correct. If you use the 'advanced search' above you can look though lots of threads, and read up on the process from people who are in the same boat as you.

That was the answer I got two weeks ago from tier2 but today tier2 said they going to send it to the local field office. I think they are having fun making us confused with different answers. :)

This was from March filer

Yes I know it is a different place.. I was curious why the representative kept telling me that I need to check NVC processing time on their website not check processing time on the USCIS website.. So I thought maybe I missed my NOA2 somehow.. There always can be a glitch or I might over looked it.. But NVC people seem really nice when I talk to them..
