I just want to see some movement about my case!!!

Planning on visiting my husband in NY in january for his bday... do you guys thinks this is a bad idea? I mean I have used my tourist visa several times through out the last 4 years, but it scares me to go now that we are in the middle of this process.

I'm not sure if that is the best idea. They have the right to deny your entry to America. If it is a must that you visit your husband, you should have ####### load of evidence that you will be going back to your country.

No notices whatsoever here. I check online every day and its getting depressing.

My Congressman's office is filing our expedite for us this week with an attached letter from the Congressman in addition to my own coverletter and evidence. Trying for financial loss as our apartment is being sold by the landlord and my husband's savings isn't enough to find another apartment plus pay the immi fees later on. We might be okay if it wasn't being sold, but in India there are a lot of fees associated with finding an apartment. We just can't afford it. We were financially set for a 6-8 month wait, but losing the apartment is hurting us and we are going to run out of money much sooner than planned. Especially if the wait nears 1yr. We'll see how it goes.

You should be fine but just be prepared to answer any questions they might ask and buy a return ticket. My husband has been to the states and back in the middle of the process too.

I'm not sure if that is the best idea. They have the right to deny your entry to America. If it is a must that you visit your husband, you should have ####### load of evidence that you will be going back to your country.

We filed our I-130 in August and I flew to the US to visit my husband on Sep 18th for 3 and a half weeks. I had no problems what so ever in entering. Below is how it went:

Officer: what is the purpose of your visit?

Me: Vacation.

Officer: Who will you be staying with?

Me: My husband

Officer: Are you bringing anything in the US?

Me: A bottle of olive oil and some gifts.

Officer: What kinds of gifts?

Me: A set of 2 decanter crustals and some towels.

Ofiicer: Why towels?! We have those here!

Me: They were a wedding present. They are of more use to my husband here than to me in Greece.

Officer: How long are you planning on staying?

Me: 3 and a half weeks.

Officer: Ok. Place your right hand fingers.....

As lovex3 said, it is a very good idea to have lots of evidence of ties to your home country. I didn't need any of mine, but its better to be safe rather than sorry.

If the stress of the chance of not getting in is too much for you, or if you would rather not lose your money spent on a ticket in the off chance you get denied, then don't do it. Just be honest with them and you'll be fine.

Good news.. I got confirmation from my congressman my expedite was approved.. Said I will have my decision on the I-130 in 30 days :)

That figure seems inflated. Is there a single March filer with a priority date beyond March 8 that has already been transferred? Those files had better zip out of those service centers if this is going to happen.

What is the reason for expedite?

Well for one my wife lives in the 2nd highest country with murder rate. But since then truce between gangs happened so I never worried but the bus she takes has been robbed twice with her on it. Gang members have started hanging out in her neighborhood. Her coworker was robbed at gun point for wedding ring. Her neighbor's house was robbed by gangs. Most recent friend of mine was robbed there and got stabbed also lost a eye.. Tier 2 told me that was 100% valid reasons so I filed.
