To be honest I don't think anything I do does any good.. Starting to think everything I do slows it down!!

Contact congressman (yes)

Contact senator (no)

Call tier 2 (yes)

File expedite (yes)

Place service requests (yes)

I have gotten zero from service requests (maybe done 6 so far). No letter or anything.

I am though disappointed in my expedite request.. I have many valid reasons as to why to approve it based on the safety of my wife but when I filed it the tier 2 just said she living in dangerous situation and conditions which did not include any details. Said I should get something in 5 days with decision or requesting documentation. I did get the letter in 2 days after I did request saying my "case was under review" and they "received my expedite request". I talked to a tier 2 about it and they told me I will get something again in 30 days that it should go fast..

VJ timeline shows I should get adjusticated anytime from now to mid November.

Reading everything it seems like I'm back where I started.. First waiting to be transferred to local office and now waiting to be transferred to different service center..

So far all efforts are wasted and looking for that light at the end of the tunnel

Have a wonderful day everyone and I hope this week brings many families together

Finished for now!!

Hey, i'm a April filer (NOA1 on the 9th). I'll share my progress...

My wife's sisters got their CR1 6-7 months after NOA1, so we were thinking it would be the same for us. I went over to visit my wife in China for 3 weeks, came back and spoke with a tier 2. He said that I should hear something by October, and if I didn't to go ahead and call back. I called back 10/9/13, asked for a tier 2, and he said "Oh, you need to wait at least an additional 60 to 90 days". I asked if they transferred my (MSC) case file to "the local office" and he said no.

90 days places the new hopeful expectation out to January. I hope I don't have to call them back by them and hear them quote another 3 months!

Off topic, but pertinent. I was hoping my wife will get over here by April next year, in time for filing taxes, and that she would have gotten a SSN by then. I think reaistically that is no longer going to happen. I would like to file joint taxes next year. My understanding is that I can get a tax ID number for her. Does anyone know how to do that, especally with the logistics of she being overseas and me being here? Thanks.

But why would you want to file for someone who doesn't even live here yet?

Hey Folks...Luk , goldensky99 and lovemytico........ just chill guys..... If you don't like my post, just don't answer to that. I am not asking you specifically to comment on the same. There are other sensible VJers also who can give an answer. I didn't asked you for your expert comments. Behave like mature guys...okayyyy... All of us here know that we all are frustrated and want just a way out to get out from this waiting process.

Go ahead guys, i am not stopping you from filing for an expedite for any blah blah... reason. Everybody is trying on their own and so i am. I filed for this just caz of a suggestion from a VJer only, otherwise there was no need to wait for 7 months, i wud have filed it longggg back.

Dear Luk, thank you so much for your kind wishes, but even then i will pray that your petition should got approved as soon as possible. Ur hopes doesn't matter for me dude. If your hopes wud have been so strong your case might have got approved by now. Just calm down buddy.

Dear goldensky99, even if you won't file for an expedite, your case will be processed normally only, i think there is no harm in trying. U never know wt will work out for you. Even sitting idle won't make any difference.

Dear lovemytiko, its been a while now that i am reading your posts. U r very right, this is public forum, everybody has the right to write anything, but we all are here just to share information/updates and not to depress anyone or to protest a specific person. U have your case and i don't have any problem whatever way you choose to make processing fast. everyone wants to be with their partners ASAP and it was just a step taken for that. I have asked just for OPINIONS NOT DECISIONS. Even i am stresses as you, i am taking my steps, you take your own.

All of us here know that we all are frustrated and want just a way out to get out from this waiting process.

Here is the reason people are being mean to you after reading your post.

It may have come off as you filing the expedite request in your interest rather than National Interest, and lost sight of what expedite is really for.

This especially if your wife did not take any other notable measures, to save the people for ex quit her job.

It looks like you are looking for a fast way out, and a maybe unethical one, and it is unfortunate that you are using the interest of patients for your own benefit.

The reason why people hoped that you don't get it is because in all these stress they have tried to maintain a ethical and genuine path so that the people really in need of expeditions dont not suffer and then you come up with this.........

I hope you get your approval soon , but not this way, sorry cant be supportive

Hi everyone - so I finally tried the Tier 2 operator call, and got pretty much the same response as everyone else. Both operators were perfectly nice, but can't say anything other than, "You haven't been transferred to a local office" (which is actually useful information) and the same "They're working on October 2012" that everyone else has gotten.

Obviously we all know that October 2012 aren't the only files getting approved right now, so my theory is that in order to avoid complaints, they are basing their standard processing times off of the OLDEST files that are currently being processed and not the AVERAGE age of the files being approved. That gives the MSC the largest window of time before people can start complaining about being outside "standard processing times".

Not that it makes it okay - and I'm just guessing - but I suspect that's the reasoning behind it.

It does start to make me really nervous that he won't get here before next summer - even though we are legally married, we are planning a family wedding ceremony for next June, and we had thought initially that there was no way this process would take longer than that. Now it looks like our worst-case scenario might come true - and we have to start planning for it just in case. Luckily, I am in a position to possibly take a month off in the summer (skype in for work meetings and such) and go be with him in Germany, which we might have to do if it comes to that.

Let's hope that it doesn't, and we all start to hear more April approvals soon. And let's send some good thoughts to those poor people from October 2012 who might still be waiting for approvals!

em

Did they happen to mention whether they would adjudicate in the NBC's?

I read somwhere that the Oct 2012 information was from the VSC... so in my mind, that doesn't even apply to the NBC.... They just took the oldest file in the pipeline and used that... It only really buys them time so they aren't flooded with inquiries because they are past the posted timeframe... That's it.

In the first week of september, I had send an email to USCIS ombudsman stating that there is no processing time for NBC and therefore we do not know if our file is beyond normal time. I am not claiming that my email was the reason that they recently added the processing time for NBC. But if it is, please stone me to death.

I also sent a letter to the same effect in September. Maybe they got a bunch of them and that's why they added their ridiculous date, so avoid having to deal with petitions who are obviously outside of normal processing times since there are so many of us.

I just see it as another slap in the face. The one small amount of recourse we have in the system, and they work as hard as they can to shut that right down instead of actually fixing the problem.

Why not we send individual emails to Ombudsman stating our plight about the long delay. If someone there is humane they might act.

Also if you look the time frames, i-130 petitions are the ones that are backed up forever. All those petitions for non-immigrants are taking very short time.

Don't hold your breath on the Ombudsman's office.. I placed a complaint on Sept 11th and then there was the shutdown... and then I called ( several times) and was told they are super behind in their processing and that mine will be looked at soon... And a few more phone calls later... today included, All I get is a voice message asking for my name and number and they will get back to me shortly....
