I finally made it to the end of this thread to make this post! My I130 petition for my husband was received on April 16, 2013 by USCIS. On October 18, 2013 we received our approval. Received my letter today confirming the approval. Now its off to NVS! We are relieved but I miss my hubby!! Haven't seen him since after our wedding in March! It's so expensive to fly there and I have three children prior to this marriage so I'm holding it down. I'm hopeful this process will move a long. It would be the best Christmas ever if he could be here by then!!! Congrats to others who have received their approvals!!

Congratulations. My application was received on the 17th of April. Hopefully am next!!

Hoping mine doesn't get transferred TBH...the Newark office is a hellhole. On the other hand if it does, my family knows some NJ politicians so maybe I could get mine pushed...

Honestly I just want this part of the process over with either way.

Also I talked to a US customs officer when I came back to the US a few days ago--he told me my husband could visit me while the I-130 was still pending, no problem. Though he did specifically say only if he is a Canadian citizen.

I visited my hubby in August in the USA and got in fine - I took a whole load of evidence I was returning to the UK though, just to be sure.

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent

06.12.2014 - AOS packet scanned in (took them THAT LONG to do it)

07.30.2014 - Sent re-filled AOS form, as per checklist instructions

09.24.2014 - Case Complete (FINALLY)

Im trying to make an infoss appt. But the options or reasons I need are not listed.

You can check current case processing times to get an idea of how long your case should take. If your case has a receipt number, you can check the status.

We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed.

Please choose from the following -

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing. EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

Which one of the above is my reason if I just want to know where is my file? Its been past 6months and have not heard anything?

Choose the option that does not require a request ID number. Thats what I did. It didn't pertain to my request but that's how I got my appointment. They weren't able to answer any case specific information though, so if that's what your hoping for don't be disappointed.

Guys, I have asked for an expedite in my case. The reason that we mentioned is: As my wife is a nurse, so she has to deal with sick and injured people on daily basis. Waiting for such a long time has stressed her a lot and we want the case to be expedited under National Interest and an Emergency situation due to lives of Americans being affected and she cannot afford to have her attention taken by other stress. Lives will be affected due to unnecessary stress if the case is not expedited.

We got the letters from her employers as well stating the same thing and attached along with the application.

Do you guys think that it will be considered for an expedite?

what did the employer put in the letter? Are they doctors stating a diagnosis or are they Leadership noticing her stress level? Does she have any stress related illnesses that you have backed up? Just curious

And the rest of us going through stress deserve it :) ?

Anything in life can cause stress , she should probably be in a different profession if she cant handle it.

There is no reason to get a special pass just because of your profession.

Imagine if all of us started doing this, the real and genuine reasons for expeditions would suffer!!

I totally understand, my wife is also loosing hope, and its sad that I can't even tell her anything positive because USCIS won't give us any right information. This wait is just inhuman.

Agree this is very inhuman , especially the lack or chronological order, sudden change in processing times, lack of visibility, seperation

current status is this: (please add information or correct me if i am wrong)

** FEB filers are being transferred to Local offices or other benefits centers

** MARCH filers

A) those who are DCF or Expedites are being currently approved

B) rest are getting transferred to local offices. As of today.

** APRIL filers - probably will follow the same as march.?

Just curious, do you thing approving a months filers takes around a month? Say they are on Feb now, would they be on March in Nov?

Based on what I've seen around VJ, you probably won't get an expedite on these grounds. I think they'd be more likely to suggest your wife is in the wrong profession if she can't manage her work alongside the immigration process, unfortunately.

from all that I have read about expedites, it really has to be something close to a death bed situation, but then again, there was an expedite approved and the girl posted that her reason was that she could not afford to pay her rent AND pay for the immigration process... ( which kind of floored me)

Most of the expedites I have seen lately have been for humaniterian reasons... dangerous situation in the other country.

I don't think stress would count as a reason to expedite since childbirth is not... Not even a c-section.... Then again.. I saw a post recently about a woman who was having a hernia operation on Nov 1st and they approved the expedite.... I guess it all depends on who looks at your file and how caring and empathetic they are.

Try it an see what happens. Worst they can say is No. Then you can say you tried everything you could to get through this hell hole
