Hoping mine doesn't get transferred TBH...the Newark office is a hellhole. On the other hand if it does, my family knows some NJ politicians so maybe I could get mine pushed...

Honestly I just want this part of the process over with either way.

Also I talked to a US customs officer when I came back to the US a few days ago--he told me my husband could visit me while the I-130 was still pending, no problem. Though he did specifically say only if he is a Canadian citizen.

is this true? my wife is from canada

every1 we've talked to has said no to coming to visit, were we given incorrect info?

knicks1111 : Where is your Time Line??????

Im trying to make an infoss appt. But the options or reasons I need are not listed.

You can check current case processing times to get an idea of how long your case should take. If your case has a receipt number, you can check the status.

We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed.

Please choose from the following -

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing. EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

Which one of the above is my reason if I just want to know where is my file? Its been past 6months and have not heard anything?

is there something we can be preparing for the next step as we wait for the approval?

Your other post said you're from Canada so you can do Electronic Processing if you want for the NVC step (which I would suggest because it saves some time!). You can follow this guide that will have all the information and steps you'll need for it: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_for_Montreal_Beneficiaries_%E2%80%93_Electronic_Processing_and_New_Online_Forms

Also, in reference to the post about visiting while your case is still pending. As long as you bring proof of ties to your home country - like a job letter stating when you'll need to be back, a lease letter, mortgage payments, return ticket, or other things that show you have a life you need to return to - you have a chance of being let in. It's never guaranteed because it's up to the officer at the border, but you can always try! If you search for similar situations, a lot of people have posted about it on here and will give you some ideas of proof of ties.

I talked to one officer who told me no, but the officer who admitted me back to the US said it was fine. I think its fine as long as you dont get a grumpy officer and bring proof of ties.

I agree with you 100% and I am glad you said it !! "criminals" HOW THE FRIG do you reward a criminal with a pathway to citizenship or priority processing when the citizens who followed the law BY THE BOOK get thrown aside?????.. And in my opinion, everyone on this forum should be against amnesty.... I don't care how long they are in the US ILLEGALLY... go back to your country and file your papers just like the rest of us had to do... You knew the consequesnces when you crossed that border undocumented.. now deal with it. I am appauled that the government is delaying the I-130's filed the correct and legal way ... I am sure I'll get my comment deleted.... oh friggin well

Votes, to get votes. That's all they care about. Staying power and using it to lord over us.

Yesterday only we have contacted our congressman and they asked us to fill a form and send it to their office so that they can look into our petition.

Actually we are going to file for an expedite request under humantarian situation, we have submitted them duly filled letter (that was sent by them), a copy of NOA1 receipt and letters from employer.

Those guys have accepted the same and asked us to wait till next weekend to listen something from them.

Fingers crossed!!! Just praying so that it gets approved.

I finally made it to the end of this thread to make this post! My I130 petition for my husband was received on April 16, 2013 by USCIS. On October 18, 2013 we received our approval. Received my letter today confirming the approval. Now its off to NVS! We are relieved but I miss my hubby!! Haven't seen him since after our wedding in March! It's so expensive to fly there and I have three children prior to this marriage so I'm holding it down. I'm hopeful this process will move a long. It would be the best Christmas ever if he could be here by then!!! Congrats to others who have received their approvals!!

I've seen lots of talk about people questioning the usefulness of making an inquiry to their senator. I did this and all that came back was that it was in the initial review, which I already knew...duh!!! I started calling regularly, made an info pass appointment. Not sure what got it thru but my husband and I desperately needed some good news. He went back to his home country to wait during this process after we were married there in march, and he is miserable. Has been in the hospital with malaria many times and to make matters worse I can't afford to visit!!!
