Congrats to everyone who has gotten approved. It is hard to see people getting approved who have later NOA1 dates but at least we know the paperwork is moving. I am wondering if anyone actually thinks it is worth it to contact my local senator? It seems like they give the same answers as the 1-800 number. Do you think it would be a total waste of time? Our NOA1 is April 11, 2013. My wife is Canadian so she is not in any danger and we aren't financially unstable so I dont think an expedite would be approved. I also have no idea where my paper work is since sometimes they tell me its in San Francisco and sometimes its in Missouri, its an MSC number.

You should definitely contact your congressman or senator. Will they be able to do something? 95% of the time, no. But there are some out there who are very helpful. My congressman was, unfortunately, no help at all. But you won't know until you try.

Go for it! Usually contacting them is super easy, but I would go for Congressmen, not senators...congressmen usually get in touch quicker...they represent smaller constituencies than Sens. Response from my congressmen has been much more personalized and am able to have good dialogue with the assistant in the office about my case.

At the very least, you can tell them you are getting conflicting information about the location of your case and that you just want to know for sure where it is being processed currently. They will definitely be able to garner that information for you. I also figure, even if they can't do much else in this step, it's good to at least be in touch with the congressman's office now...in case something else happens along the way where they can make a difference (excessive delays in file transfer, hung up in Administrative Processing, or anything else). Good to have 'em on your side. :-)

USCIS recently began transferring some casework from the National Benefits Center to the Nebraska, Texas and California Service Centers to balance overall operational workload. The affected casework includes the following form:

• I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, filed by U.S. citizens for their eligible immediate relative (spouse, child, or parent).

Effect on Customers

If your case was transferred, USCIS will send you a notice listing the transfer date and where your case will be processed. Your original receipt number will not change and this will not further delay the processing of your case.

I have read that info already and I wonder how long it would take them to transfer the petitions and actually be in someones desk. It could take a week or month. Either way we are supposed to be notified if our case is transferred to another location. Hope to see more noa2s before the end of the month.

He said they got 277 files just for Kansas. Which is a lot.

So now Iam just waiting.

All this transfer is good news and it's going to be pretty quick just as they transferred F2A cases from Vermont to NSC and TSC. I hope my petition is transferred rather than being in the National Benefits Center hell hole. Why didn't they do this as they did F2A a couple of months ago? I know a lot of people who have received approval on their F2A a little over a month after cases were transferred. Hopefully this happens with CR1 that will be transferred.
