First of all, I would like to thanks everyone on this forum. Without this forum, it wouldn't be possible to get my approval at all. All the tips and information I got from VJers were really helpful.

I worked with my home senator and expedited the case. I should have expedited the case earlier after filing I-130. At that time, I didn't have much knowledge about expediting the case. Anyhow, I am still glad that my case has been approved. We have gone through much pain because of the slow USCIS approvals.

I will advise everyone to contact their area senator/congressman, who are waiting for more than 6 month. I will also advise to take the advantage of expediting the case. If your beneficiary is living in a 3rd world country, it increases the chances of expedite approval.

I also filed I-129F (K3 visa) which will eventually be declined. I got the approval email about I-130 petition only, nothing for I-129F. There was no mention of expedite case approval in the email. But i feel that the expedite case has been approved. That's why, they approved the I-130 quickly. I will let you know further details once I receive the approval letter.

Let me know if you have any questions. I would be glad to answer any questions if I can.

PS: Please, don't give up and try to expedite the case or place a service request

Best of luck all!!!

Next Step NVC.....

Here's the timeline on my case

I-130 Priority date: April 29th, 2013

I-129F Priority date: June 20th, 2013

Aug: Initial Contact with my home state senator

Aug 22nd: Senator's office emailed me back and advised me to contact a senior senator regarding my case (Although she's the most senior senator from our state.. lol)

Sept 3rd: Emailed/called the same senator's office and explained the situation in detail.

Sept 13th: Sent the Privacy release form (her office wasn't responding to calls/emails, that's why took a long time).

Sept 16th: Senator's office made an inquiry to the USCIS-NBC and expedited the case.

Sept 23rd: Called Senator's office for the update and asked if I can submit the expedite supporting documents. They advised me to submit the supporting documents to USCIS-NBC directly.

Oct 1st: Called USCIS and expedited the case.

Oct 2nd: USCIS-NBC responded and asked me for supporting documents (received the letter on Oct 8th)

Oct 10th: Changed the mailing address

Oct 11th: Sent all the supporting documents package through FedEx.

Oct 15th: Package delivered to NBC

Oct 17th 12pm: Called USCIS and place a service request to inquire about the status of the supporting documents.

Oct 17th 2pm: Alien Number changed email notification

Oct 17th 5pm: I-130 approval email notification

Hey I wanted to ask u what resin u gave for the expidate. Like if the spouse lives in a third world country what can u tell them to give u the visa quicker? Cuz we don't have a baby coming or anything lol. That's the reason people usually give. And also tell me the procedure please! Thanks :)

Hi I am Sandra (the beneficiary) My Husband is an USCitizen, we filled the I-130 in April. Got our NOA1 on the 15th of April. Since then, only misinformation from USCIS. Since August we kept calling them and got always the same answer, that our case was being processed and that we were going to get the letter in 30 days.

And now the last Info is that our case has been in the NBC since the beginning and it might take around 6 more months the top to get processed.

I wanted to know if there is more on our situation? Or are your processes being solved normally?

ps:At the current moment I am living in Portugal by myself, and my husband has returned to the US.

its that four letter word we all hate.................................W A I T

that's all we can do right now.

Try not to listen too much to the operators when you call. They are reading off a script. They are basically covering their asses. Of course they will tell you 6 more months.. it buys them time... it makes it so they don't have to be held to any kind of "out of compliance" complaint

There have been some April filers who have been approved in the last week or so. Keep a watch on Igor's list. Keep your timeline up to date.

And just hang out here. It is fun to see all the approvals come through.

Also, Check out the other threads.

OMG! I wish could be as positive as you're. I'm in a point of the process that I just feel like crying all the time, I miss my husband and this wait just makes it worse.

He just bought "our (first) family car", he is bound to finish the purchase of our apartment and knowing I might not be there when he gets to move in in january just kills me... send a little of your positive energy to me please! LOL!

Oh my dear, how I understand you, I am alone here in Portugal, and missing all the family big events ( like brother's in law wedding) but above all I had to celebrate our first year alone, away from my husband. These days i believe i cry everyday crying.gif This waiting is frustrating!!!

Yep, I was told by a tier 2 person about 3 weeks ago to expect something around HALLOWEEN.... to me, that is the end of Oct/early Nov.

That is what I am holding on to... I'll be in Costa Rica for Thanksgiving and the first week of Dec. I hope I will have some thing to celebrate while I am with my adorable husbandheart.gifheart.gif

How do you contact a tier 2 costumer service person?

Yea, I don't get that either. I spoke to one of the representatives for my senator and that is the exact same words I got. They really need to get their act together! Ugh.
