Can I please ask a dumb question? at what stage, after what does the actual interview get scheduled? Who schedules it? I'd like some better clarity on this I don't know why I'm not sure. Thank you April filers!!

After you've got through NVC, your file then goes to your local embassy and then I believe you contact them to book in your interview. Then within that time you have to go get your medical done.

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent

06.12.2014 - AOS packet scanned in (took them THAT LONG to do it)

NVC schedules the interview and send tout the date.

Local embassies have their own procedures which may differ from country to country, you may want to check you country embassy Web site to know their requirements and check VJ local country specific threads on VJ for more info

13 June: check list : missing page 7 of i864.

25 June : scan date AOS checklist

7 Aug: Case Complete...... BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT

14 Aug: interview date assigned

16 Aug: Email interview appointment received

18 Aug: Medical completed

23 Aug: biometric done,DS260 stamped, fingerprints taken.

10 Sep: interview day; interview took 511 days from I-130 NOA1

Hi, our case is transferred to local office on 26-nov, we applied on 17-apr. its almost 7.5 months.

Can anyone tell how much time it will take to get approved after the case is transferred.

It could take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. It just depends. Some people are getting approved quickly and others are waiting a month or more. I was transfered Nov.14th. I've been waiting 19 days so far. Did you recieve your hard copy in the mail yet? Where were you transfered to? Also, could you please add your info to the april speadsheet if you haven't already done so.

You will probably get another email that says you have been transfered to "another USCIS office". Then you will recieve a hard copy a few days later in the mail and it will tell you which service center you case went to. It will also say that if you don't hear something in 60 days to call. I'm assuming their goal is to have the transfers done within the 60 day time period.

this sucks, if they gonna take 60 days to transfer a case completely, when the hell they approve it.

After you respond to an RFE it usually isn't much longer that your approved correct? Like is your file just waiting on whoevers desk until they receive what they need then they approve it? Correct me of I'm wrong.
