Thanks for the response. So, do you recommend that my wife should not resign from her job until she submits AOS (as we don't have anyone else to provide support once we are back)?

We really want to be together now (NOA2 is taking forever). Do we have any other way out? Can't we face any difficulties in NVC process if she will be with me (outside US) during that time?

Only you can decide that, but I would keep my job till your pass that point in the visa process. But try getting more information from the NVC side of the house.

Hi, I thought I would post here

US citizen filed for canadian wife form 130, they received on april 10, 2013, and gave me a MSC tracking code number.

Ever since, there has been no change in status, no RFE....just under "initial review"

Is this normal? Should I continue to wait or is there somebody I can call to see whats going on with my case?

Thanks.

My husband and I are experiencing the exact same thing. We will just have to keep waiting!

My husband called uscis last night and had few questions for her. again the lady was nice and told him they are re evaluating their processing time. And that they are going to update the website max in a week or 2... She suggested that he calls back next week.. Hopefully she will give him an accurate estimate of when our case would be abdjucated... :( at least she's been honest!

One June filer approved from Kansas.

One July filer & then one June filer...what they are working backwards now??? Their procedures make absolutely no sense. Unless its something like, files are sorted in some manner and each reviewer is given a stack of files...then those two people that got approved are just with like a super efficient worker. I think my case must be on the desk of some worker who has called in sick for 6 months straight! *sigh*cray5ol.gif

On yet an even more depressing note...I got my response back from my Congressman's office(an email AND phone call) which surprised me because I figured I wouldn't hear anything because of the BS shutdown, but it was just the generic response. "your case is still pending". However, because I am in India right now, the assistant at the Congressman's office told me they would work with me & help to file for the personal financial loss expedite. I'm not holding my breath, but when a Congressman says he'll try to help, how can I say no?

"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" ...Can't hurt, so we'll give it a try. At least its something to help pass the time. ClockWatch2.gif

I seriously doubt that, here's why:

-Most expedites do not take this long. It has been 2.5 months since I requested it. People who request expedites usually get approved in about a month or so (I have sent PM to all people requesting expedites in previous months, and I know their "timelines")

-Even though I tried calling the USCIS many times in order to get some news, I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM REGARDING MY EXPEDITE REQUEST, SO I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WAS APPROVED.

-The reasons for my expedite were not super urgent, life threatening, or any of the mentionned circumstances...(US Embassy in our country even told us how to manage our situation while waiting for our approval... their argument was very good, I hate to admit)

Anyways, WILL LET YOU KNOW AS SOON AS I GET MY HARD COPY.

NBC is at it again I tell ya'

Their case was expedited for some reason. It was stated in his profile.

Re-posted his reply re: expedite.

That was one of the first things I thought of. Maybe it ended on top of some (lucky) pile or whatever...

Though I insist, I seriously doubt that our case was expedited. USCIS never even contacted me regarding our request, and other expedites have taken A LOT LESS TIME to be approved (look around VJ if you have the time).
