Let me ask this... Why do you think this forum is here ? I mean what is it's purpose ? It really does not fit for a Visa info sight does it ?

How do you sub-stain a free site ? Advertising !

How do you get people to advertise ... Traffic. .

What drives traffic--- Subjects like politics and religion of course.

How do you get users to hang around after their Visa is done... Same answer

What to know why the super hypersensitivity to Islam subjects. ??

Muslims as a rule are not a real tolerant bunch of people questioning their religion. Word gets out Visa Journey is anti-Muslim....True or not... it could put a huge dent in traffic even shut them down

Want the truth... follow the money

This forum is a double edged sword.. Drives lots of traffic,, but we can't have them going all Salman Rushdie on us can we.

Sometimes the truth will set you free.

I can't say this is true, the muslims I have run into have always been a kind bunch of folks that have no issues talking about Islam as long as you don't go in bashing the religion from the jump. Before I converted, there is a mosque about 6 miles from Scott, I was intimidated before I got married and I wanted to learn more about what I was getting myself into. I walked in and felt like a fish out of water, plus I was the only African American there. All were of Asian or Arabic descent. But you know what, one of the elders asked what I was there for, and when I told him, he pulled me into the hall, and we prayed together, he showed me the proper technique, and how to recite the prayers. He also introduced me to the Iman, and we talked about the wedding ceremony.

If you approach someone with a genuine desire to learn about Islam, you will get a better response.

LOL I remember thinking like this-before I lived there and stuff. if you break the law it is not the royal family who gets the attention of the authorities, it is an average Saudi. The royal family in SA is certainly not 'watching' the restaurants in the little town of Rhahima that we frequented. Nor was anyone else of an official nature. When we ate as a family we sat in the family section. When we went to lunch from work we ate in the men's section. Those are the rules and they are understood by all. When Saudis don't want to follow the law - they simply ignore it. Example there is no respect for traffic laws as far as I can tell and the Royal family isn't out there "bringing people to justice" over it. If they did their incarceration rate would be higher than ours for sure.

It be "Saudi people" not royal family who constitute the police, the military, the judges, and the officials in each town in that country. The religious police, Muttawa who enforce the religious laws, come from the people, not from the royal family. They decide the application of the law. It is the royal family who tends not to step outside those basic ruling principles or the people raise hell. The current king wishes to implement driving for women. The religious authorities believe that this is not good. It hasn't happened.

So who do you think decides what over there?

How do you think your garden variety dictatorship works? Do you think the Kim family is out making sure everyone stays in line in North orea? Of course not. It's their underlings. Same in Saudi Arabia. That's how dictatorships work. And they are usually not too concerned about red lights being run.

well yeah. i know that that saudi religious scholars would disagree, i was talking about the posters involved this forum.

i also see all christians as christians, no matter their personal affiliation. my childhood raised in a christian family with very liberal christian parents (now very, they've evolved) alongside very evangelical christian family has been the driving force in my shedding religion all together. i can't stand hypocrisy. and life within religion is rife with it.

since i can't claim a religion, i guess i feel more justified than a religious person to call bs. i don't have to hold myself accountable to a differing ideology. anyway i don't hit the report button, i'd rather hash it out till the thread gets locked.

Interesting. For both of you, how far does this extend into other groupings? Gender? Ethnicity? Nationality?

Blood groups?

I'm O negative. Am I therefore just as sh1tty a person as the worst O negative person that's walked the planet, because, our blood's like the same?

I did not know that one can elect one's blood type or gender or ethnicity. Interesting.

Probably true, Most people in the religion and politics section are finished or deep in the visa process.

Muslims as a rule are not a real tolerant bunch of people questioning their religion. Word gets out Visa Journey is anti-Muslim....True or not... it could put a huge dent in traffic even shut them down

Conspiracy theory

Maybe the should have a sub-forum split off from P&R dedicated to Islam.

You should start one. Maybe a discussion of the Pros and Cons of Islam

I'm O negative. Am I therefore just as sh1tty a person as the worst O negative person that's walked the planet, because, our blood's like the same?

Sounds like a typical quote from an O negative person.

nope. i don't think anyone is a bad person or a good person because of their claimed religion. i know that a religion is only as good as an individual's interpretation and application. i don't think snake handlers are worse christians than boston catholics or whatever because the very root of their christianity is that jesus died for their sins and was resurrected. the same.

Gender is entirely flexible.

So is it that an individual who makes a conscious choice to believe in any possible creed on this planet is therefore lumped in with everyone else who subscribes to that same creed? Because then anyone who's ever made the choice to recite the pledge of allegiance should be lumped in with any and all other pledge reciters?

Recent article:

Only North Korea exceeds the US incarceration rate. But it only exceeds our rate when their 200,000 political prisoners are added to their general prison population figures. Exclude political prisoners and we incarcerate more than even North Korean Dictatorship. According to NBC News agency N. Korea detains nearly one percent of their population for political reasons.

I would guess that a dictatorship that oppresses a lot of people would have to incarcerate a lot of them to impose this oppression.

We in the US for instance wouldn't have to demonstrate our superior values of freedom or our superior way of life to Saudi Arabia with a 700% higher incarceration rate than they have.

That's just me though. We rather liked it over there.

That's debatable. I know that one can have one's gender surgically and medically changed but one is born with a gender. One is also born with a blood type. And one is born with an ethnicity. One is not born, however, with a religion. Big difference between these things.

Not necessarily. A high incarceration rate is not indicative of a dictatorship just as a low incarceration rate is not indicative of a democracy.
