Hello all,

I am new here.

I am a sri lankan who is on the k-1 visa process. My countries US embassy has scheduled an appointment for the interview. My American boyfriend visited me just last month in my home country (it was his first trip). Should I mention his visit to my country in the interview? I am worried that they are going to ask why didn't he just marry me in Sri Lanka, if he was able to come and visit me all the way from US. The truth is, we really want to start our life in US and that's the reason why we didn't even think about getting married in my country. Please some one offer me advise on whether or not to mention his trip and show his travel docs.

Thank you!

They won't ask you that. The whole point of the K1 visa is so the USC can bring their fiance into the US to marry and live. All they care about is whether you and your fiance have met IN PERSON at LEAST ONCE within the last 2 years. So, yes, you should definitely tell them that your fiance visited, as this will strengthen your case and help prove to them that your relationship is genuine. So take along/supply any evidence of his visit - eg, his plane tickets, pics of you together etc etc). Good luck.

was there a prior visit, anywhere on the planet, prior to filing the I-129F ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Prior to his visit to my country I was in USA as a student for 5 years. We met at school there. Then I came back to my country, he applied for k-1. He visited me last month and left. Then I received my mail announcing my interview date...

You're good to go. Yes mention it, you are supposed to be intending to marry and having him visit is reasonable and should be expected (if he can).

Also they won't ask to why you didn't get married because you can not just yet because of the requirements of the K-1 visa.....which are you both intend to get married in the US>
