Great job  What do you think about including the i130 petitions as well? Processing times are becoming longer and longer for those too...

I'd like to hear some other people's opinions on this. What I worry about, when mentioning "I-129f" or "i-130" is that it doesn't mean anything to people who have never gone through the process. One of the goals of this video is to get people involved, who wouldn't ordinarily care about the issue. Throwing a lot of form names and terminology might cause their eyes to glaze over.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, and I'll add those links under it when it's ready. It's still in testing mode, there will be a final version tomorrow... Please don't send it out yet, anyone. It still has fixes to be made.

Watched the video how did this information become available? If this is factual I am livid  and will be contacting my Senator and give him an earful.

Start here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/421247-i-129f-delay-at-the-csc-a-comprehensive-analysis-of-the-data/

You'll want this information when you contact your senator. There's also a thread on doing that as well

This is really good as is, but I agree that the language could be tightened. The shorter and snappier, the better. Can you post the script as it stands now, so we can make specific suggestions?

I'm a little hesitant to do that at this point, as it could lead to a full rewrite, and it would take quite a while to change the whole video. I'd like to get this out ASAP, and I don't have the time to keep reworking it.

If you have any specific changes, I'd love to hear them!

I am most concerned about 1:15-2:00 of the video.

1:15: "In August, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security, without Congress's approval, mandated that the USCIS implement a new program called DACA. ... DACA provides permission to stay and work for two years to those who illegally entered the US as children."

Suggestions:

In August, 2012, President Obama changed US immigration policies, allowing young adults who entered the country illegally as children to receive temporary permission to stay and work in the US.

This change in policy -- called DACA -- was made without Congressional approval.

1:24: "Rather than ask that DACA petitioners wait a few extra weeks for processing, USCIS, likely acting under political pressure, decided to take drastic measures to ensure that these DACA petitioners were completed more quickly than the statutory petition types already pending." (I think this line is confusing and not really necessary. I would cut it and, perhaps, replace it with the number of DACA applicants.)

Suggestions: As of this March, USCIS has received more than 453,600 DACA applications.

1:41: "In short, the USCIS decided that I-129F fiance visa petitioners would have to wait indefinitely to be reunited with their loved ones as they all-but stopped processing fiance visa petitions to quickly process DACA petitions."

Suggestion: To meet this demand, USCIS all but stopped processing fiance visa petitions, ensuring that US citizen applicants would be indefinitely separated from their loved ones.

I think this fits pretty well with the rest of the video, and keeps it from getting too bogged down.

I'm inclined to agree with most of that. Your first suggestion is about the same amount of text, so it doesn't shorten it much, but it is more direct. Any objections from anyone else?

I think it's better to leave Obama out of it, to be honest. Just invoking him is going to make the video very divisive and alienate many who would otherwise be supportive. I'd say keep it with DHS w/o congressional approval. Besides that, I think the changes make it brisker and more digestible.

Very nice. My only comment, as already suggested by others.. maybe cut down the text a little. Also, maybe I'm just a real slow reader lol, but I was struggling to read some of the text before they faded out, mostly towards the beginning of the video. Other than that, great job! :)

I really liked the piece. All the suggestions of shortening the text I agree with but I too would leave out Obama. I think it would distract from the problem.
