Hello all.

My husband and I got married in December in an elopement but have a June wedding celebration planned with my family. We do wish to move to the States eventually, however not yet as my husband would like time (about a year) with his family first and therefore we have not and do not yet need to apply for any I-130's or any US type residency visas. His June visit is strictly for pleasure and I intend to leave with him to spend the summer in the UK before returning back to the states ALONE before we then begin processing UK immigration. My husband also intends on bringing a letter from a UK immigration lawyer declaring that she intends to help process my UK immigration when the time comes.

Of course I know that no one will know what issues can arise as each immigration officer and clearance interview is different, but given the proof of a UK immigration lawyer's letter, proof of return tickets, and perhaps a letter from myself stating my intent to leave with my husband after our wedding celebration, are such cases like these with no intention to stay generally met with entry denials?

Whoops sorry! I just realized I posted this in a non-family area, I wasn't sure which area to post it, do feel free to toss it where it belongs =)

I traveled every 6 months or so from the UK (where I was residing) to the US (my husband's home country) and have always been let through without too much difficulty. From experience, I have never been asked to produce any documentation at point of entry although they have asked me to confirm when I was leaving. Once I even went in on a one-way ticket, as my onward journey was to a third country. Even then, the IO didn't ask to see the actual document, just asked me when I was intending to leave the US.

They are pretty stern with questioning and do ask the purpose of my visit. I answer "to visit my fiance/husband" and there will inevitably be a few more questions along the lines of my intentions, length of stay, where he lives, what he works as etc. It's never a sure thing, but having made multiple trips, I personally have never been denied entry or "taken to the back room" for further questioning. Just make sure you answer truthfully and have those documents handy.
