Can additional paperwork be sent directly to an embassy?

For a friend (CR-1):

Her paperwork just arrived to the embassy, interview is next month.

She has a co-sponsor who almost makes enough money for 3 people, even though the co-sponsor only needs to make enough for 2. Because it is Lagos, my friend is worried that this income will not be enough. She has found another co-sponsor that makes above and beyond the requirements now. Only problem is that he wants to send all the paperwork straight to the embassy to protect his privacy.

Does anyone know if this is a possibility? She has an email into the embassy but thought I would ask on here while she waits for a response from them.

No the affidavit of support documents are brought to the interview. He could place them in a sealed envelope with "to be open by personel of the US consulate Lagos only.( accross the seal to prevent tampering) If he really doesn't trust the people involved he probably should be a co sponsor.

The AOS documents were sent to the embassy by NVC. This is just a back up sponsor of needed.

No one going through this process is going to say to a potential co-sponsor, "oh, you don't trust me with your personal info? Nevermind, I'll just search and search some more for someone else to co-sponsor! Sure, it could take months and maybe NEVER happen, but if u don't want me to see some info, then u shouldn't help us!".

Uh, no. They are going to try their damnedest to get it done.

Co-sponsor could mail to NVC, however the applicant will need to take in to interview also, ok with a sealed envelope indicating only consular should

open will make them question, how close is this person, do they understand the true responsibility, if that friend/family have issues with applicant

access to the papers then maybe the applicant is neither close nor trust-worthy, or is the co-sponsor being paid for this....it would send a wrong message..just my thoughts.

No!, supporting or additonal evidence cannot be sent directly to the consulate or embassy in Lagos. They addressed this in their FAQ when they auto respond to emails. They say there is no time to sort through such documents and merge them with appllicants' file.

I agree with NigeriaoBust in that I think the post is referring to the standby sponsor; if he/she is not comfortable having the people being helped see his/her personal info, then there is a problem.

Giving the applicant a sealed envelop with intsructions to be opened ONLY by the CO definitely spells trouble and could be detrimental to the interview outcome.
