I really question the integrity of any relationship that is threatened by or succumbs to the wait of a bureaucratic process. If one can't weather the visa process, how can one expect to face an entire lifetime together?

I'm not sure why you are upset by the bickering here, because you won! The majority of post July 18 filers will be entering their 9th month since NOA 1 soon. Pat yourself on the back, USCIS is testing the relationships, just like you want. And of course, all us K1'ers relationships with our fiances must not be all that solid, and are ripe for the testing, unlike your superior and solid relationship with your wife.

Also, the recent batch of December approvals must have you jumping for joy, backing up your assertion that it isn't FIFO, since us earlier applications with shaky relationships need more testing. 10, 12, 15 months, all the better. High five, dude!

I'm at 245 days, the waiting is over. Its time for action I have already contacted my senator who has contacted CSC. I'm wait a short time for anwsers, failing that more action will follow. Next step is evidince gathering and then the threat of a lawsuit notice to the US Attorneys office and director of USCIS and head of the CSC. There will be no more sitting around and waiting

I guess this is why some say that ignorance is bliss. If none of the waiting K-1 visa applicants found this site and they did not see the timelines of those who were approved ahead of them, if no one told them that the I-129F may get approved in 2-6 months, then they would not feel as awful as they do now.

So if it makes anyone upset to see the progress of other applications, perhaps they can take a break from stalking USCIS and VJ timelines. Like what NikiR has said, a watched pot never boils, and that will only make your blood boil.

True, to a point, but when I filed, the USCIS timeframe for K1's stated 5 months, and remained so until only a few months ago. Once it got after 5 months, I would been calling and investigating what was going on, VJ or not.

make your time productive... I painted bedrooms, cleaned the house, did some gardening....

and all will be fine...

Yup, that's what my fiance and I have been doing. Because if we focus on the waiting, it will both drive us nuts. LOL!

The feeling for anger and dissatisfaction is the first step to make a change. I would never advise anyone to turn their eyes away from any source of information.

Yep, instead of telling people relatively insensitive and useless advice, like relax, I'd encourage other July filers to feel enraged and take action. I've contacted both of my senators and my congressman. I plan to call them every 2 days or so until they realize that dealing with the CSC is less of a hassle than dealing with me. I'm going to contact some media outlets and put a real political spin on this. Hopefully something comes of it. Do not relax. We've relaxed for way too long, and worked on our relationships for longer than that. Do not be afraid to pick up the phone and pester people, constantly. The government is there to help its citizens -- make them do their work.

If doing all that makes you feel good, then do it..!! but please let me know if you get any results...

From various posts I have read, people could never say for certainty if contacting a congressman/senator had any positive results.. and yes, I would have contacted everyone, if I had been waiting more than 8 months ...

Batman. People are angry and they have every right to but your comment on working on things in the house and preparing is a great suggestion and I have been doing the same. I took my kitchen and tore it appart. I figure either she will get here and help me finish it or I will have it done when she gets to the usa. Either way its a great way to remove stress.

I dont have a NOA2 I havnet been waiting long and I can see the long road ahead but I am strong in my relationship and ready to be together.

My girl tells me every day. Stay busy no matter what. It makes time go by faster and if we wait 1 month or 24 months we will be together.

I guess the Thai saying Mai Pen Rai "No worries" helps alot ;)

It sucks some of you are getting close to a year, put something to your representitive and then go paint the room and make a garden. Find something your fiance wants bad and put your mind to making it happen when they get here. I know it sucks! It sucks now. It will suck later but when that NOA2 comes to you it will be so sweet just like a fresh watermelon on a hot summer day.

J&G

I agree, everyone has a right to be angry.. and I was very much angry at 5.5 months... when I filed, the processing time was 5 months for Vermont and 4 months for California...

Dont expect 5-8 months... If ur mind expect 12-15 months this it not a long wait,, weve been 9 years long distance , 12-15 months is not long waitfor me,and im on 9months mark and still patienly waiting,, calm down guys :) do something to make u busy... My friend told me from july up to oct filers more likely 12-15 months, he work inside uscis Csc

Did your friend happen to mention why July through October filers are being singled out while they push November and December out? This is by no means sarcasm, I seriously would like to know the answer to that. There seems to be no logic to that, other than they want to make their average processing times look good so the overall public will get off their back.

Also, to everyone else. I do understand that the OP was trying to be helpful. He wasn't rude about his comment (like a few others I've seen who were a bit more arrogant). It is good advice, if for no other reason, to keep those of us still waiting from having a coronary. However, I think the best thing to do is to be calm, but be proactive. Keep the pressure on USCIS. The best that could happen is it draws attention to the black hole filers. The worst that could happen is it just ends up being a waste of time. And believe me, I fully understand the anger in here. At 5-6 months, I was still relatively calm about this, but now that 7 months has past (September 4 filer), I'm definitely feeling the anger and the uncertainty along with my fiancee, just like a lot of you. The worst part isn't even the wait, but the fact that there seems to be no end in sight to this delay.

Also, a lot of us wouldn't be so angry if we could at least see that other late July through October petitions are being processed, instead of just November and December (ESPECIALLY late July and August), it would probably make a lot of us feel better, and feel like at least our turn is coming. I'm very happy for the November and December filers, believe me, it just makes it that much more heart wrenching for those of us who are in that black hole. And it is not my intention to make ANYONE feel guilty, it sure isn't the Nov and Dec filers fault, it's just that those of us in the black hole are human too.

Theoretical: If someone at USCIS promised me that my petition would be processed in October of this year or my money back (Yeah right, this is an exaggeration, I know!), even though it'd still be a very long wait from here, I'd feel a lot better being able to at least plan something. So again, to the OP, I understand you're trying to be helpful, and there are those of us who do appreciate the effort, myself included, even if this uncertainty is still heart wrenching. But to summarize, it's not just the wait, it's the fact that a lot of us seem to have been temporarily passed over, and that makes it very difficult to even have a ballpark idea of when this long wait will end. That to me is more difficult than the wait itself. And being proactive and bugging USCIS and my representatives and just venting on here seems to actually make me feel better vs just sitting around and trying to relax. And I'm sure that venting on here probably helps a lot of other people feel a bit better too, if only temporarily. :)
