Yeah, as if there is any comparison between, being 6000 miles away, every day and night, for months, waiting for paperwork to be shuffled, and living with your significant other and family, waiting for paperwork to be shuffled.

OH OK, YOU"RE RIGHT...I SHOULD LOOK AT HOW GOOD I HAVE IT NOT BEING WITH MY FIANCEE, WHEN IT IS GOING TO BE SOOOOO MUCH WORSE FILING FOR ROC AND AOS LIVING WITH MY LOVED ONE...I SHUDDER TO THINK OF THAT TIME AND HOW HORRIBLE IT IS GOING TO BE!

 Exactly!

Oh well, atleast I am in the UK and for me that means another day is done. It's 8.18p.m and I am off to sleep so that my fiance, who is 6000 miles away and working his backside off can call me before he sleeps at about 3a.m my time. It's the only way we can spend any time together. Roll on NOA2. Yeah waiting on AOS will seem like a piece of cake.

Good night everyone. Tomorrow we will all be one day closer.

People have every right to be angry. It's ridiculous that this process takes as long as it does. Nobody's denying that. But it's not the OP's fault. It's not anybody here on VJ's fault. So when someone posts something like this in an attempt to be helpful, it's ALSO ridiculous to treat them as if they're the enemy.

I must have missed where the OP said AOS/ROC will be just as bad/worse.

You seemed to have missed the sarcasm and hyperbole, but when someone states "waiting for the NOA2 is just the first part of the journey" it is implying that they are of equivalent discomfort. I am going with "no, they are not".

Very true. Hey I'll sign up for a new cell phone..... can't. Maybe a new apartment..... can't.

OMG, I know. I have the crappiest phone right now because everything around here that is nice, you have to be in at least a one year contract. I absolutely hate my "room" that I pay an armload of money to rent. Can't stand my roommates but I'm stuck. I was redflagged at the border last time I tried to cross because I was stupid and didn't know I had a max time frame allowed to visit in the USA. So even when I try to visit next time, I'm not even sure they will let me across. So-HURRY UP visa lol! And to top it off, I'm completely in love with a man that is quiet, doesn't like texting a whole lot lol so...it can be really lonely.

It is the first part of the journey. You can read into it whatever you wish, but it's an accurate statement.

I guess this is why some say that ignorance is bliss. If none of the waiting K-1 visa applicants found this site and they did not see the timelines of those who were approved ahead of them, if no one told them that the I-129F may get approved in 2-6 months, then they would not feel as awful as they do now.

So if it makes anyone upset to see the progress of other applications, perhaps they can take a break from stalking USCIS and VJ timelines. Like what NikiR has said, a watched pot never boils, and that will only make your blood boil.

Man, if You're that unhappy take it out in the gym, or do some jogging, or whatever!

Can't say that or you'll get flamed about your timeline or how your journey isn't as difficult as someone else's.

Oh please, you waited half a month more than the national average at that time. Many of us are waiting 4 months more than what we were told we'd be waiting. I've worked on my relationship for 4 years already, but thanks for the tip. I'm surprised you didn't say that God has a time reserved for everyone.

I worked on almost 10 years relationship (Long Distance Relationship) and finally being together for the rest of our lives is now coming! Good heaven!

♥♥God gave you to me. I asked Him why, He said, “Because he can fill your life like no one else can.” ♥♥I love you and I really miss you so much luv!♥♥Hope to be with you soon and have a happy family!♥♥

I filed for K1 in June 2012...

I knew, and I accepted the fact that it would be a long ride....

So I just waited... My fiancé' and I skyped several times a week, we sent text massages daily.. and we just waited... Of course I was upset at the 5 month mark.. we all are... but we just waited.. and we prepared our documents for the next step, and we spoke of our dreams for the future.... and in December we rec'd NOA2.... the prepared for our interview in Moscow in March.. and all went well..!!!

So please, relax... it will all be done... prepare your documents, work on your relationships....

dreams to not come true overnight.. sometimes it takes 6 months, sometimes 12 months....

make your time productive... I painted bedrooms, cleaned the house, did some gardening....

and all will be fine...

That is exactly what I did! I painted the entire inside of our house, I planted 3 new trees and a bunch of new plants and I made sure the house was spotless and now my fiance is here with me and we couldn't be happier. During the wait it seemed as if it was forever but now that we are together the wait seems like it was nothing. And to think of it it wasn't really that long if u think about ur relationship in the long run. What are a few months compared to a life time with the one u love.

OP - I filed 5 weeks after you and I don't have my NOA2 yet - let alone be anywhere close to having my interview. You were lucky - most of the people who filed a month after you are not so lucky.

I can't paint bedrooms as I sold my flat in anticipation of moving to the US. I now live in a single bedroom in a flat I share with 3 other people. I have always had my own home and now I have to share a bathroom, toilet and kitchen with 3 other people. We din't have a garden, so no gardening for me. I just live for the times when I can get into the US and spend time with my fiance.

I knew and accepted in would be a long ride but this is one hell of a longer ride than I was expecting!

This is the part that I find the most frustrating... Im an August 10th filer and I anticipated the time they gave (and added a little more in case) was reliable. That meant early this year I pulled out of some things.. found new homes for my canaries .. and so on... my leaving has an impact on all sorts of other people and organisations ... so out of respect I gave them clear notice. (I have NOT resigned from my job.. but a couple of additional things I did and was volunteering my time for).

The unknown length of times means you are constantly on edge ... and I didnt want to plan things 3 months out 'in case' ... other people are affected by my pulling out. But after this long.. I may still be sitting here in June or July! I dont want disrupt others.. but I also need to live and be involved outside work... no guarantees when we will get NOA2 ... give me a time frame (at this point I really dont care how long away that is) that is secure and will have integrity.

I get what everyone's saying, but telling people in this situation to relax is kind of like telling a depressed person to "just cheer up".

Thanks for trying but please understand, you've made it to the point we all want to be at. It's much easier for you to even contemplate the concept of relaxing. Myself and mine, we just started this, and there are a million things, mostly related to money and timing, that make it nearly impossible to relax. Because of money reasons (and how little vacation time we get in the US), there is a really good chance we won't get to see each other until I'm picking him up from the airport, K-1 in hand, and who on earth knows when that'll be? That sort of changes the equation a little. There's so many little things to add to the stress, like working your Skype time around two schedules that are 6 hours apart, or trying to figure out when his house should be put on the market, or worrying about what he's going to do for a job when his work contract ends in August (unlikely we'll have our NOA2 by then), or reading about how we just got assigned what is apparently the slowest processing center. No housework to do, no garden to tend, and trust me, I'm already memorizing the next step and creating checklists (itself another stressor; you have to admit this stuff is pretty intimidating).

I'm not saying this because I think I'm winning some sort of pity contest here or that your journey wasn't as difficult as ours might be. I'm saying it so that you'll understand what this looks like to others who don't have the hard part in their rearview mirror yet.
