Hello all,

I'm in the process of filing for AOS, and had an interview which was followed by an RFE, saying my medical portion was incomplete. I sent a response saying I had a medical done in the UK at Knightsbridge last year, with a copy of my receipt, saying that they should be in possession of the results from that medical. Took them two months, but finally had the response saying that in theory, my file would be fine, but unfortunately, they are no longer in possession of my original medical results (presumably lost), and that I either needed to obtain a copy of the original medical proving I don't have a Class A disease, or get a new medical performed, and that I have until the end of the month to do so.

So my question is:

a) Will Knightsbridge Doctors have a copy of my medical on file that they can either scan to me or send to USCIS?

b) If not, is there anyone else who may have a copy along the route of USCIS locations?

c) Has this happened to anyone else? Or am I the only annoyed person today lol.

Thanks!

Victoria

I've seen a few other people run into this problem before.

I would pursue a twin approach: make an appointment with a local civil surgeon for a week or so, but also contact Knightsbridge and ask if they can provide you with a copy of your previous medical.

If you fail to satisfy the RFE by the allotted time then your AoS will be denied, so you may need to just bite the bullet and have a new medical exam.

Get a new medical done. You will have no luck getting a copy. People have tried. This question came up so much that I was curious because the answer people were given was always "call your medical place and ask for a copy." I wanted to know if that was possible so rang up Knightsbridge one day. They said the visa medicals are under contract to a third party (Embassy), so they perform them and send all records to the third party. They retain nothing. The embassy also puts every bit of your file in the brown envelope for you to take to the US and turn over at your POE. They have no record of your medical. It is probably misfiled somewhere but there is not really a way to track it down, especially if USCIS said they tried to locate it.

Save yourself a lot of dead ends and see a civil surgeon ASAP. You will have to take a TB skin test and go back in 3 days to have it read. Take your shot records so they can fill those out again. Hope you don't need any boosters. If you had insufficient time interval marked, well enough time has passed where that excuse won't fly anymore. So sorry this happened to you. An unnecessary expense and bother for you. They lose medicals way more than they should.

Thank you both for your input! I guess I'd better book another medical then :-/
