That's a shame. I can see how religious discussion can get controversial but people should be able to discuss the societal implications of certain religious laws or practices.

That is allowed, as long as Islam is not involved.

The reason this can't happen is because they is a deeper fear among folks that don't understand Islam. It's part racism(since most folks assume most muslims are arabic, they must be terrorists) and part ignorance.
