Hello,

I got a letter in the mail telling me to go to my biometrics appointment on Nov. 28th. I have a meeting at work that morning and I also don't have any personal leave left for this year. There is a little box on the appointment letter that says "Please reschedule my appointment for the next available : Saturday afternoon"

Then it tells me to send it back to the address below.

Has anyone done this? I would really love a Saturday appointment but I don't want to wait 5 months or something rediculous.

I'm just wondering if anyone has rescheduled on their own and how long did you wait for a new appointment?

Thanks so much!

I do not think you have to reschedule at all. I beleive Saturday is their walk-in day for missed appointments. Just show up any Saturday after your initial missed appointment. My wife and I forgot to take our marriage license to her biometrics appointment. We drove 3 hours to the appointment and had to go back. The lady told us we could come back any Wed. as a walk-in if we wanted too.

But Saturday seems like a weird day, being a weekend and all.

This was just me experience your situation may be different.

Good luck!

No there isn't anything that says come the next Wed. It says to mail it back. I can't risk not showing up because that is "abandoning the application"

I think I will have to take my chances and mail it back. I might stop by tomorrow and see if they will reschedule me right there...

I hope you hear back soon Muuuuah. Let me know when you do!

Thanks for the comments.

I would explain to your boss why you need to leave... I think he'll know how important it is that you be there and let you go for a few hours... I would try to make that appointment any way that you can...

If he's resistant.. well... go above him...

Canadagirl,

I would suggest you not to reschedule it... because you can go there anytime to get your biometrics done... before or even after you have missed your appointment.

My husband had gone there before his biometric's date and had no problem.

Ok thanks for the help guys!

I think I will pop by this Saturday and see if I can get it done then. If they won't do it then I will have to see what I can do at work.

I really don't want to reschedule because I have this feeling I won't hear anything for 6 weeks or something like that.

Thanks again and I will let you know how it works out!

We rescheduled for a Saturday by sending the request in the mail. Our appointment came back for about two weeks later at 8:00 AM. When we arrived it was clear that EVERYONE was scheduled for 8:00 AM as there was a line of about 50 people. By 9:00 AM you could walk right up and get it done almost immediately. We had to reschedule our biometrics. Every district office seems to have a slightly different process for this, but ours had us send in the form with our choice of the next available Wednesday or Saturday. Never mind that we'd had a week's notice for the first appointment, it took us another 5 weeks to have our rescheduled appointment.

In our case, we had to drive an hour and a half each way to our district office. It's not the end of the world, but it's far enough to be inconvenient if we weren't able to get in on a walk-in basis. :) If it isn't too far for you, show up and see if they'll let you in at another time, but don't be shocked if they don't.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

Well good news in Orlando!

I just went to biometrics office today and explained that I can't make my appointment on the 28th of November. I told the guy that I was nervous about sending the paperwork back because the holiday is coming up and it might not get there in time for my appointment and therefore it would seem like I was a no show.

He said "not a problem, we can fit you in right now!"

So biometrics are complete!

Thanks for the help guys.
